terry allen was a barrow boy at chaple street market in islington. He ran a stall there throughtout his career. my grandad whatched small hall boxing in islington and terry was the best he saw. I did read that terry named himself terry allen in honor of a friend who died in the war but my grandad said "no, that was all a load of bollocks for the papers.."
It will work McGrain, eventually anyway. In his second fight with Rinty he had him down a few times. Couldn't carry on the British dominance of the flyweight division and lost to Marino and Shirai (no shame there) would love to know if there's any footage knocking about and yes, all reports seem to point towards him being a pure boxer type, more crafty then purely talented (not going on much admittedly)
