Even James DeGale would beat the **** out of Lenny McClean.

    I seriously doubt it!

there are Boxers Great and then there are Boxers Great and Street Hardmen combined, but the two aren't always a given just because you can box well. True Hardmen are a rare breed, so to be a Top Athlete/Boxer and a Hardmen equals the real deal.

a lot of Great boxers can and did lose Street fights, because they simply weren't street tough enough, i.e. hard mental _unts that would spare no mercy.

DeGale is neither a great boxer nor hard _unt, the True Street lads in and around his size waist him, namely the McClean your talking about!

Matt Skelton would take some stopping in a square go, especially when a bit younger. Good boxer, champion kicker boxer, mma fighter. Very good combinations

Didn't Shaw have a very promising amateur career as a middleweight curtailed by heavy prison sentences?

Of those unlicensed guys I think he was the only one with any potential to have been decent in the pro ranks. Here was a 40 something incarcerated middleweight dominating these heavyweight unlicensed fighters.

I agree Moog Matt Skelton's a rough house and a proper fighter. I would expect Skelton to have Joshua in a square go the now with his all round fighting skills and toughness.

If you had ever met Lenny and seen what he could do, trust me, your opinion would change, drastically.

I have also seen what Roy was capable of and both he and Lenny had no rules whatsoever on the cobbles.
If you went down to either of them, they would do whatever was needed to stop you getting back up again.

Those 2 were far and away more dangerous than Degale or Terry Downes.

I remember Mr T Was Muhammed Ali's bodyguard, and Ali said he was hardest man he had ever meet, Mr T offered to fight hardest fighter in US based mafias, wouldn't fight him. He had combination of speed and power and street fighter skills

All these so called tough man leeny mclean and others were just bullies who picked on normal people. They had a reputation so people were scared. They fought other fat unskilled men. Later in life even they all admitted most if was all bs. Mclean did try and run some protection on clubs etc by bullying but eventually ran into men that did not care and produced guns and said they would just kill him, never heard from him again.
Their reps were self made and people bought it

I would still fancy Matt Skelton to do him in a square go even at this age. I heard one Skeltons trainers is meant to be some fighter as well.

And apparently Alexander Povetkin's a street fighter for the Russian Mafia.

Your right, 99% of known hardmen on streets are bullies, but not all. You get some that just fight when challenged or they have to, often there the hardest ones.
