    Thompson is stepping from side to side and dropping the jab. Big wide left hook sliced up top by Smith. Thompson just blocks it, barely. Smith is cutting his way in, landing rights on the body and hooks up high. Thompson is wobbled momentarily, then backed up into the ropes. Smith is pressuring and knocking at Thompson's gloves & wrists using single punches, loading up, alternating power-jabs, hooks and right hand leads.

    Thompson is much better then I expected.
    Smith could be in trouble. He has to so more to win rounds.

    Smith is being outboxed in the 5th round and he's four rounds behind and yet to really launch a sustained assault. His footwork has been disappointing and so has his output. The issue appears to be Smith is going for a KO, but not landing anything when instead he should be throwing in three's and fours...

    Needs a big round now.

Thompson skips away springily with his knees bouncing until his rangy legs snap out straight in midair as Smith begins tagging him with high-climbing rights.
