You step up to world level and do that, he was absolutely in beast mode tonight. Stunning powerful performance and now FW has THREE world champions under his belt (four if you include Tete) and then with the rematch between Ramirez and McKenzie it could well be five.
So, brilliant matchmaking once more and his fighters have stepped up to the plate in genuine 50/50 fights.
    Great night of British boxing.

    Round 1

Flanagan is flitting in and out, very light on his feet, working an incisive right jab to split Magdaleno's guard. Magdaleno is squatting low, putting up his own southpaw check-jab, measuring with it. Flanagan is positioning himself with short hops, a quarter-pace in and out, enough to keep Magdaleno guessing and off-rhythm. Flanagan winning the jab battle, getting there first and exploiting his reach advantage. Magdaleno does a full split, tea-bagging the canvas as his right foot slides out from under him beyond his control. Nice left uppercut by Flanagan stepping in. Magdaleno is flinching away from the jab and then jumping in low and flurrying on the body. Flanagan is working a strong jab while circling right and then creeping outside.

    10-9 Flanagan

Magdaleno looked like he was swinging for Flanagan's hips rather then his head at times, disappointing performance from him looked aweful. That was a superb uppercut from Flanagan though, out of nowhere it came.

Yeah, Flanagan has not shown to be that strong of a puncher, and Diego has proved decently durable in the past... I never rated Magdaleno as much more than still a prospect.. but damn.. well done by Flanagan.

looking forward to gimpfords write up on these fights. I suspect both Thompson and diego slipped after being well ahead of the cards. Terry and Beefy will be ducking some American fighter. And deonty will get a mention .

Yeah...I meah, I was never really all that impressed with Diego, but he was certainly a legitimate contender and Flan just dismissed him without so much as a second thought.

    Flan's legit.

    Round 2

Flanagan is stepping back, enough for Magdaleno to come up short with his body jab. Magdaleno performs yet another full split, bottom half cracked like a chicken-wing. HUGE RIGHT HOOK COUNTER BY FLANAGAN AT MID-RANGE, catching Magdaleno throwing his own fat hook, and Magdaleno's head is spun around while he is deposited straight down on the canvas. Magdaleno is up and on the attack, getting lit up by counter 1-2s and uppercuts by Flanagan. Magdaleno is down again! Up at six, hoisting up his trunks and professing to referee Terry O'Connor that he is okay. BIG ASSAULT BY FLANAGAN! 1-2-1-2-1-2, lightning combinations, straight and crisp, all scoring on the face. Magdaleno down again! No three-knockdown rule. Magdaleno fails to clinch or escape, just set against the ropes getting battered. 20 seconds left. Flanagan working uppercuts and slamming down with the right. O'Connor in!

    TKO2!!
