Terry Flannagan/ Derry Matthews Situation

    After watching Flannagan fight at the weekend and the comments from Francis W4rren after the fight it was mentioned he would get the winner of Mattews/Gethin on the Chisora Fury Undercard , Originaly Flannagan had the Gethin shot so i assume he had been paid to sidestep for Derry with a promise of the winner etc , In Matthews post fight interview with IFL TV he seems pretty unkeen on fighting again so soon and came across imo as if he wanted no part of Flannagan, Seems as if the lad Flannagan is gonna get shat on imo , Anyone have any thoughts on this ..........

    boxing politics , there is no way Derry could be ready for that fight if he is going on holiday in two weeks then he would need a camp to get ready.
    If anyone needs a rest Derry does he fought like a trojan on Saturday

    Derry will vacate as Flanagan beats him easy.

    Coming off the back of a loss to Ormond, this title shot was a gift against 1 of the poorest britsih champions in recent times in Gethin. Derry will try and push for 1 last big money fight as anyone half decent will beat him. Flanagan is too much of a high risk low reward kind of fight.

    Derry already calling out Marsili haha! We all know what will happen there.

    i was of the same thinking he wanted no part of Terry , i thought Gethin was a tad hard done by tbh as he blocked a lotta shots on the arms etc, In comparrison Derrys face was far more beaten up than gethins also

    Terry was IMO the most improved fighter to come to my gym each time he sparred, not only Derry but hed give all LW at domestic level a hard time
    Well done to Derry on sat night true fighting man

    You know better then anyone though Bill sparring isnt fighting.

    Im not saying Flannegan wont win because i would lean towards him but its not a mismatch like some are making out.

    Far from it but age,speed and being an awkward southpaw I'd make terry fav
    Derry did struggle against the Italian (southpaw)

    Derry said in his interview he wanted a crack at a world title , i just dont see how it could happen especially after losing in a wbo european fight to ormond

    I know mate but how did Enzo Macc get a shot at Braehmer and Paul Smith reckons hes getting a shot at Stieglitz.

    Enzo worked his way back up iirc mate british commonwealth etc , Smith has quite a high ranking also , Derrys not ranked highly in any word circles i dont think

    I know but who has Smith beat of note?

    I actaully rate Matthews wins over Crolla and Coyle better then anything Smith has done before he lost to Degale

    Spose you have a point mate Derrys win was good comeback against coyle , personally i thought crolla beat him 2nd time out and Smith hasnt really beat anyone imo asides dodson for the british , id like to see smith vs fielding
