I agree. Ray in the 1990s was not that great. Once he fought Duran 3,, the inactivity hurt him. He was never the same... Norris fought a great name, but Ray had nothing left.. No more wins ever.

No, Terry Norris beat him. GET IT RIGHT!

If he was never the same, it's becuz Norris ruined him.

All that experience and it availed him nothing against the young novice champion on the rise

BTW, are you the guy that actually compared the speed of benitez with that of NORRIS???

If so, you got a LOOOOOONG way to go!

    I suggest watching film of young Camacho circa 1982 - 1985; Roy Jones 1991 - 2002, Mel Taylor mid 80s to 1992

    and of course, Terry Norris

Like Terry might say "I've got so much speed, I don't know what to do with it!"

if you say he was off two years, you'd be lying

and if you said he was 35, I'd know you're doing it again. you make yourself a liar when you state one thing, but the facts say another and then I'D know you are doing everything you can to excuse Leonard and diminish Terry's greatness

and that's what ESBers do - talk **** about Terry

and they talk **** about him becuz he handily whipped their man. they cant stand someone that good who was never built up by the media, yet proved himself with results results results

I could identify the talent before hand but you werent able to. not without the help of the media

This ass whipping would have been done at any time, except Ray was fortunate enough to be born before Terry's time

How would Terry vs Ray go? both were gifted but no one dodges bullets better than Terry Norris; not only was he quick of hands and feet, but of eye as well.

and frankly, I cant see how YOU cant see that Terry would easily destroy SRL of the Larry Bonds fight when it's so obvious. what's leonard going to do any differently than he did in their fight, put pressure on him like Julian Jackson?

That's not his game. Leonard's game is to box and wait for openings. The only problem is that he waits too long to find the right openings. Move just a little and it throws his timing off

Terry on the other hand, is trigger fisted and once the opening is there, he doesnt even have to think about it

It's like an automatic release and once you've been hit, you KNOW you been stung

ask Ray Leonard! or better yet, just look at how he responded after being struck by Terry's savage blows

Yeah, Leonard's just not going to take those kind of fights any more than he wouldve taken a timely fight with the Marvelous one

btw, I also lined my pockets with green after Leonard took those losses

how was terry fighting 2002 11 years after he beat Ray? I have so much speed I don't know what to do with? Maybe get out of the way of Julian Jackson's right hand or Simon Browns Jab .. Yeah I think Benitez is a much greater fighter than Norris. Norris had speed, but he also did a lot of half punches not extending fully. and his lateral movements were sometimes hopping up and down. Terry was good and a half of fame fighter, but let's not make him the level of Sugar Ray Leonard.

LOL! you think ANYONE is a much greater fighter than Norris when my man whipped your man with incredulous ease

DUH! Except for PRIME Primo Carnera (with some reservations)

It's so obvious the way your sour grapes show

and look at the way you try to cheer yourself with "How would Terry look in 2002?"

I didnt see any problems with Ray handling Duran prior to Norris. Did you?

the way he was moving to and fro non stop for 12 en route to a shut out

since when is THAT the evidence for a shot fighter??/

what's that? you got nothing further to say and have yet to learn as much as Rooster? beaten before you started!

sidenote: "I got so much speed, I dont know what to DO with it!"

What a ridiculous post! You should be put in prison and left there a month without food and water until you come to your senses!

Get THIS everyone!!! "Terry was good and a half of fame fighter, but let's not make him the level of Sugar Ray Leonard"

    ******ED!

    What's that, more criticism?

    Terry bounced?

so what, Ali hung his arms by his sides

Terry didnt extend his jab fully?

Ali slapped with his left hook. and he never threw to the body!

What else didnt Terry do in his 122 - 104 spanking of Sugar Ray Leonard?

Interesting. So if I am put in prison for this, what does someone get for a speeding ticket? Hall of fame I meant, not half.. But if you want to get all excited about the post that is fine. Terry is not the level of Ray in boxing history..

honestly Ray in 1991 is not Ray is 1981. How can you make too much out of that. He beat Ray and Ray was good enough that night to maybe beat someone like Rene Jacquot. but maybe not.. So how was it so great. Sour grapes are when someone makes an excuses for someone who can fight, and the guy lost. Well how would Terry look in 2002 since you are saying Ray in 1991 is great still-or insinuating. Well Ray knew Duran by 1989 and fought the perfect fight. Duran and Hearns and Ray could probably fight each other in tough fights, but Norris might beat them all in 1991 just on his youth. Yeah you are beating me with your facts..

head to head is all that matters

and when fighter A whips fighter B, that makes him better in my book

What the hell is this? "Well Ray knew Duran by 1989 and fought the perfect fight. Duran and Hearns and Ray could probably fight each other in tough fights,"

Is it any wonder I look down my nose at your comments? where'd you learn to write?

There's not a third grade teacher that would accept that explanation from their students

is it any wonder you wite such things as "Terry Norris is a good fighter but he's not in the same class as Ray Leonard"! HEE - HAW!

    you DONKEY!

and when you show me how a fighter who was taken 11 with less than ordinary Larry Bonds, is going to beat Terry, maybe I'll listen but you havent been able to do that
