I haven't seen much of Terry Norris before, but I was looking at his fight with Julian Jackson and he has very, very odd foot movement. I remember seeing the same thing in his fight with Simon Brown as well. Basically, every time he went to the left, he would lead with his right leg, so his right leg would be crossed either behind or in front of his left leg. Either way, he was totally off-balance and not in a position to punch properly.

It seems strange to me, though, since Norris was otherwise a very skilled boxer who was well-trained. Did he have some sort of injury in his left leg?

what i think your talking about i wouldnt really consider "footwork" he is just doing a walk away. eubank does it pernell does it.

he is walking away from the danger in a diaganal direction, it's very awkward becuase he has walked into the dead zone just passed the left hand so the puncher has to reset his feet. to be able to get him.

whats a shame with terry is that he seemed more contempt to stay inside in his later years. when he did jab and move it was almost like a gimic or way to pass th etime for the end of the round.

if you want to see the best of norris's footwork look for the simon brown rematch, horrificly one sided.
