terry norris is the most underrated fighter in the history of boxing

Terry norris had a great style and had plenty of ability, was disliked for what he did to ray leonard and his only major problem being his jaw, he is underrated though.
Eventhough I would pick sergio to ko him ( tito, winky would as well.)

 

Good fighter with good physical gifts but had the chin of a choir boy.

Would pick Hearns and McCallum to soundly beat him.

Trinidad and Wright would be pick'em fights.

 

Terry Norris was terribly good but even tho he had that Sugar ray win in 12 and two knckdowns scored when SRL was still to compete, not at 40 years old against Camacho, Norris could never erase his KO loss to Brown from a counter jab in Mexico in the undercard of a JCC fight and b'sides the fact that he avenged that loss winning a safe first 12 round UD, his 2nd round kayo to Julian Jackson even tho he did the same to John Mugabi and he lost against Boudouani in a rare fight tape that I got from a friend and ESB member... Of course he had memorable wars with Troy Waters, Meldrick taylor and he is ranked as one of the 3 best LMWs ever.

 

One of them along with Mike McCallum. Norris is a top 5 ATG fighter at 154.

 

Sumbu Kalambay is more underrated on the general.

 

Norris' prime ended in the fight with Mullings and he was only a shadow of the once formidable fighter he was when he lost against Rosenblatt and Boudouani.
He clearly lost the first 8 and came on strong in the end to win the last 4 against Dana.
He was a spectacular fighter against good,not great opposition.Had great handspeed,could throw any punch almost flawlessly technically and had a good punch.His chin is why he is a tad overrated and i don't favour him in mythical match-ups against other very good fighters.Trinidad and Oscar would have knocked him out in a couple of rounds at 154 i believe.
He is suffering from pugilistica dementia,very sad .
Did read an article from Dr. Goodman in which she explained Terry's brains were severely affected because he was a gymrat who sparred a lot and intense.

Yep. That loss to Nunn hurts him and makes people think less of his abilities, because so many people have seen so little of Kalambay.

He put on a beautiful display against McCallum in his win. Completely frustrated him and neutralized his attack. Great, great display of boxing, masterful defense.

I like Norris and me posting this video is not meant to be disrespecting him as a fighter. Obviously Jackson could KO anybody. But isn't this the most beautiful knock out you've ever seen?
