But that was a weakness in his game--he did not have a strong corner. And that will cost a guy a fight sooner or later. with Moore, he looked horrible against Acquino. But Lupe had a style to always present problems, but Moore had nothing. We saw a similar career with David Reid and the wars just added up quick and those reflexes and recouperative powers went downhill quick.

 

Norris by decision. He was just more talented and though Moore had good pop, he didn't hit real hard so Terry could play keep away and sometimes slug with him and beat him.

 

A very astute and vitally important point there. Duran just back alley brawled the guy into oblivion with his immense experience, it was the great seasoned (and inspired) pro vs the fledgling. The early foul smothered Moore bigtime.

Which leads me to expanding your (reading between the lines) point - sooooo many people only seem to picture the battered outclassed Moore from the Duran schooling. This was the worst of poor Davey and in no way imo has a bearing on how this fight above would go. This wasn't the real Davey Moore.
