Terry Norris vs. Donald Curry (pre-Honeyghan)

I never understood how Curry could struggle so badly to make 147 yet flop at 154. His body was begging him to go to 154 and I would have thought once this happened he'd be at his best. Very odd indeed. Damned when he did and damned when he didn't :huh

Agree. At his best Norris was an intimidating opponent: quick-handed, aggressive, and uncommonly spiteful. Curry at HIS best? Bordering on flawless. Prime Curry would have been a severe test for any welterweight I've watched on tape - including SRL and Hearns.

 

Curry lost those legs. Tough to win fights against elite fighters or steady top 10 competition when the legs are gone. He used to have maybe the best balance in the sport for awhile at 147. Gone by the 154 days.

 

I would go with Donald early. As it turned out, we learned his ability to take punishment was not the best and the tide would turn when he had to struggle, yet at the time he was a welt. he did not struggle too much..

 

Totally agree. Curry was washed up and still gave Norris a good fight.
