How would it have played out ?

Fight takes place at 154 pounds and is scheduled for 12 rounds.

Norris by possibly late KO..if he fights to his strength..He had just enuff speed and power..hand and foot..to make Floyd's day hell..Terry had that iffy chin tho'..but somehow I doubt Floyd could deck him..simply didnt punch hard enuff IMO.

Norris by wide decision or late KO. Norris too fast, just as good a boxer, and by far the harder puncher. Terry's only real liability here is his chin. And it would not be a factor against Floyd. Floyd didn't even score a knockdown (much less a legitimate KO) in the last 8 YEARS of his career. I would go into more detail, but, this is like the 5th discussion on this.

Completely disagree that Norris was "just as good a boxer" but I pretty much agree with the rest.

I'll pick Mayweather, assuming it's the Cotto/Canelo version and not the less acclimated version from the DLH fight. One guy was there to be hit and one wasn't. Also, Norris' size wouldn't be much of an issue.

A prime Norris actually had no problem with fighting at a catch-weight, let's just make that clear. He fought at 149-151 Lbs. several times and was not weakened at all. He was bigger, stronger, punched harder, and was even faster than Mayweather. He had good stamina, good overall skills, and Mayweather's punches would do little to deter Norris' attack. Mayweather would never agree to fight Norris... he'd say, "if Norris wants me he needs to come to 147 and earn a shot". Even if Norris did that, Mayweather would still find an excuse not to make this fight.

At Norris' best (mid '89 - mid '97) he was awesome. At his very best 1990-1992 he beat Mugabi, Leonard, Daniels, Castro, Taylor, and Blocker. Only Leonard and Castro went the distance. He was stopped by a very determined and hard hitting Simon Brown (Mayweather couldn't pull this off) but Norris clearly beat Brown by decision in their rematch. Norris lost by DQ twice to L. Santana (some of the best acting I've ever seen) but he finally got it right in their 3rd fight, KO2. He went on to beat P. Vaden W12 and V. Pettway KO8 (Pettway had stopped Brown but had lost to Vaden) but it was clear that he was starting to fade. A fight with Trinidad fell thru during this time. He was finished by the time he was stopped by K. Mullings... although I still thought he beat D. Rosenblatt at MW in his next fight. He was victim of the hometown decision, Rosenblatt was nothing special though.

I'll take Norris by decision but I wouldn't rule out a late round stoppage.

Norris is one of THE very best at 154.

This would not end well for Floyd.

Smokin Bert is spot on. :good

I stop reading any post about a potential Mayweather fight at 154 or less that manages to pack in a jab about how Mayweather would never take the fight. It destroys any possible perceived objectivity and has absolutely no relevance to how the match would play out.

To be frank N_N, you saying people lack objectivity in a Floyd thread is akin the saying Pot meet Kettle. You're not objective yourself when it comes to Floyd, so how does that fit in your equation of objectivity?

    So what?

You can't argue with his previous for " avoiding " fighters completely or until they are well past their best.

If you're gonna say "it would never happen because he'd duck him" in a Floyd fantasy fight thread, just say it in the first sentence so that I don't waste time reading the rest of it.

It's on par with the Herol and Dino Klit agenda, but I have an easier time skipping their posts.

It would play out with Floyd stalling and not taking the fight until Norris started to slow down. He would face the 1997 or `98 version Terry Norris. The prime peak version of Norris is just too dangerous for Mayweather.

It`s just a simple fact nothing to get emotional about.

Prime for Prime nobody wins because Mayweather wouldn't take the fight.

Floyd has a better chance against the older and less effective Terry Norris though.
