All laughter aside. I enjoyed watching Norris fight. He had that great left uppercut he threw off of his jab cross combination. Good speed decent power, always came to fight.

Some people (like redrooster) see eye to eye with me about the tremendous physical specimen that Terry Norris was...Other people see him as a guy with a weak chin who had a weak resume, and because of that is not even viable in a mythical matchup against a guy like Sugar Ray Leonard. Thats where these debates take a wrong turn...You can question Norris resume, his legacy bla bla bla, but don't make the mistake of questioning his ability and potential.

I'll put it this way...Norris had the tools to potentially beat any fighter in history between 147 and 154. He had the talent, power, speed, boxing ability...He is one of few fighters I can think of who had knockout power in both hands with EVERY PUNCH. I've seen him drop people with a left uppercut, right uppercut, right hand, left hook...his arsenal was as dynamic as they come. The guy was just a special fighter, any way you look at it.

If you don't believe me watch the highlight video i made of him :bolt

Terry Norris was very impressive at 154lbs. Norris is definitely top 5, and arguably the 3rd best Junior Middleweight in history. Jackson ko'd Norris, and Jackson was ko'd by McCallum. I can't rank him above those two.

This fight would be much more competitive than their actual fight. Ray was well past it by then. I envision this fight being as tight as Leonard vs. Benitez. I think that the real difference in this fight would be Norris' punching power. Ray would have slightly faster hands, but his punches would not be as heavy.

Leonard would have have a chance for the stoppage, as Norris didn't have the greatest of chins. I don't think Leonard has the kind of power guaranteed to stun Norris, and Norris' own offense would have Ray's Respect. I don't see Norris with much chance for a stoppage, as he didn't ko a lesser version of Ray. Norris was vicious, and would have liked nothing more than a stoppage of Leonard.

Neither fighter had questionable stamina. I think it would be safe to say this would go the distance in a 12 round fight. I'll also give Norris the benefit of the doubt over the course of 15.

I think Thomas Hearns at jr. middle would have would have run right through Norris. Almost in Julian Jackson fashion. But I actually think Hearns would have done in Norris the same way he did in Duran(who DID have a great chin). Hearns had bteh reach, speed and power. And he would look to impose himself on Norris. In my book, you can`t help but lose big points in rankings when you have a shaky chin. And Norris`s was unquestionably shaky... Hearns could be reached too with his chin. But I think he would jump all over Norris right away and not let Norris have a chance to get to him. Thing is with Leonard, I think SRL has a chance to get to Norris` chin. And I don`t believe Norris could hurt a prime SRL. I think what makes it such a tossup, is that Norris was better at 154. I just feel as though Leonard, in his prime would figure him out, and he had the speed to capitalize. As for their `fight`, SRL was light years away from his prime.. Over 15 rds, I actually like Leonard, he could get you out late,(Benitez and Hearns) But they were both phenominally conditioned fighters.

Norris doesn't have a great chin, yet Leonard's power isn't authoritive enough to even stun him. :huh

reckutnevets view makes perfect sense to me.

There is no flaw in his argument whatsoever. We all know Mike destroyed Jackson in the same way Jackson did to Norris. And likewise between Norris and Leonard-this is why Norris is a better fighter than Ray.

You don't argue with results no matter how painful. You just don't.

    End of that debate.

Stun him yes but only enough to make him fight even harder.

Julian Jackson type power? I'm afraid no :bart

I said guaranteed. What did I say in the typo portion of my thread, just before the part you made bold? Hearns has the power guaranteed to stun Norris. Trinidad would hurt Norris badly is he hit could hit him. I'm sure you saw what Jackson did to Norris. Ray Leonard does not have that kind of power.

Leonard was an excellent finisher. If he hurt someone they had a hard time making it the distance. I'm not disputing that he could finish Norris if he had him in trouble. I just don't see it happening that way.
