True. You also have guys like Zab Judah, and a prime Shane Mosley, who had faster hands than Norris also. Hell Hearns had faster hands than Norris.

If I made an all time handspeed list, Norris would be lower top 10.

    Leonard would be top 5.

Ok so out of the 100 million men who have ever boxed in the history of the sport, you would rate Norris' hand speed 8 or 9 and Leonard's a 5, yet you really think that is a significant difference? Its almost like saying Maurice Green is way faster than Michael Johnson because Green ran a 9.67 100 yard dash, while Johnson ran a 9.66.

Check Norris vs Taylor and see who's hands were faster...Oh, wait thats right, Taylor lost all of his handspeed after Chavez, how silly of me.

Where did I say the differance was significant? Significant would be the differance between Ray's speed, and Trinidad's speed.

But Ray was faster. Not by alot, but by enough that you can notice a differance.

Norris generally had a higher workrate than Leonard, and threw more punches, but when Leonard let his hands go his speed was superior to Norris.

Did you attatch a speedometer on their gloves?

Anyways, I'd like to say it takes Ray way too long to open up on a guy. Most of the time he just stood there staring, looking for openings. He's like most fighters.

Norris on the other hand is triggerfisted. While Ray would wait to look for the openings, Terry would be pitching, launching the offensive. Moreover, Terry would always beat ray to the punch.

Ray may be the better combination puncher but Terry, like Roy Jones, would always beat him to it.

I can see Norris being trouble for any version of Ray, as I think he had better technical skill.

Still, I think Leonard would get to him eventually, though perhaps coming from behind to do it.

Leonard by stoppage in 7-8 sounds about right to me.

Thats how I see it, Norris was an amazing talent. But its hard to ignore all the mediocre fighters that Norris was stopped by... Ray didn`t get stopped, even when he had a young Norris in front of him. You can have all the talent, but if you can`t take a punch....

And likewise it's hard to ignore all the times Ray hit the canvas-something you keep ignoring. I know you like to look the other way when the subject comes up but it's hard for others not to notice.

Also, Leonard's not going to have the luxury of having someone choose to stand in front of him the whole time like Kalule who went nine with him. Even Kevin Howard went nine. Look, Ray was a talented fighter we all know that but hitting a moving target has never been his strength. If he showed it in his fights I sure have never seen it.

that's nice Robbi. You have another one of Ray raising his hands with Norris in the background?

I'd be amazed if you did

I was really hoping that the ESB crew would wise up instead of continuing to deny the obvious. These people don't even know what they're talking about.

Notice that not one of them has responded to what I brought up, namely-how is Ray going to get Terry to stand still for him. How is Ray going to penetrate the high guard of Norris.

No reponses as yet. How did kalule and Howard both manage to take him nine while absorbing his best shots? No reponses.

And I never will get responses because as I said, they dont know what the f*** they're even talking about or where to begin. They're talking out of their asses so in order to make their point what they do is TRY making Norris' chin an issue when in fact, Terry made the record for title defenses in his division.

How does someone make the record for title defenses if his chin is such a problem for him? They did the same thing in the Leonard-Napoles fantasy matchup. This time they blamed it on Napoles' thin facial tissue.

Question: How many title defenses did Ray Leonard make at 154?

But you still got people here shooting off how Ray would flatten Terry in 8 when they can't even explain how it is Kevin Howard went nine with him.

Like I said, Kalule went nine too and he doesn't even have Terry's mobility. He doesn't have his power, or speed either. Another advantage Terry would have is that Ray knows his own chin wasnt the best.

Make no mistake; Terry has the power to make Ray respect him. You saw it-every time Ray attempted to crowd him Terry made him back off so that means Ray would never have been able to get close enough to him long enough to do damage.
