Who would have won this match up? Could Ayala have broke inside to cause damage? Could Norris use his boxing ability & speed to keep Ayala on the outside? 12 rounds.

Terry would get KO'd. Norris had tremendous speed and talent but I don't see him keeping Tony the juggernaut away for long.

Ayala proved NOTHING against a fighter the calibre of Norris. However.... its clear that Tony's power was legit. For that reason I give him a chance. I'd have to favor Norris however to outbox him.

Terry is a much more proven fighter than Tony. Terry also had power, and I believe Tony could be reached. I don't buy into Ayala's legend because he really didn't prove much as a fighter besides the fact that he was a top prospect. I can't give a fighter who was still green and unproven as much credit as he seems to get here.

I could see norris outboxing ayala for a few rounds before getting caught. He had pretty fast hands and feet but his weak chin was the ***** in his armor and i think that ayala would exploit it.

Terrific matchup. I'd probably go with Norris with that big advantage in speed. I never liked the way Ayala held that right hand so low & that's a big big opening to give to elite opponents. I think Norris catches him clean over that low right hand and then those quick and viscious followups finish the job. I also don't like that Ayala habit of throwing wide right hand leads to the body from way outside against this particular opponent. Very very easy to get beat to the punch and Norris was a guy that really put his foot on the gaspedal when he tagged a guy.

Norris by wide decision. Ayala one of the most overrated fighters ever. Never really accomplished anything other than becoming a hot prospect. We found out about his heart vs Campos.

Yeah, but an '81 Ayala would have torn Campas apart.
