Billy I take your point, there's no doubting Joe's record over the years. But he does himself no favours with his arrogance; well that's how he comes across to fans. I've never met him so maybe he's a decent guy off camera, but the way he carries himself in public invites ridicule. And to my, admittedly untrained eye, his game plans do seem a little samey rather than tailored to the individual fighter's attributes. Maybe he's just got a strong stable of fighters that other trainers would have had equal success with, maybe even more...
Could someone plz enlighten me as to why they call him tesco joe. I know the name has been around for yrs but ive never worked it out yet
unfortunatly joe job in very much public, now if you were given a hard time on a forum because you weren't always sucsseful at your job how would you feel. I think any coach in the UK would love to have the stable Joe has
Gallagher loves to big himself up, bragging of his unbeaten runs from his string of Matchroom knockover jobs. He's lost 5 "world" title fights this year. You say I need to learn about the sport and you are correct. Is this a record for a British trainer. Has any other British trainer even come close to losing so many?
One thing I noticed last night, when Smith was being interviewed in the ring, Joe was stood next to him at first when Andy Scott came over. Then after about 2-3 seconds Gallagher turned his back and just started talking to Callum and Paul and totally ignored his beaten fighter. It's things like that which do him no favours. Where was the solidarity with the lad who just had his dreams shattered?
How many British trainers have built or are in charge a stable of fighters that have been involved in 5 world title fights in a year?
