On 23 April it was announced that in a deal with both Sky Sports and Matchroom the World Boxing Super Series semi finals would be shown on Sky Sports. A day later Tete, who is promoted by Frank Warren, pulls out of his fight with Donaire. Does anyone feel that there could be a link between the two events given that Matchroom are Warren's biggest UK rivals and that he has a deal with BT Sports who are Sky Sports biggest UK rivals?

No. Because Warren would still make money. Now he's making nothing. Tete isn't a big enough name/draw that this would be an issue.

If Tete would have been a Haymon fighter then all kinds of alarm bells would have gone off in my head, but not in this case.

Tv rights weren’t settled when Tete joined the tournament, same as Flanagan at 140.So it could have been on sky from the off and it wasn’t an issue then.

So I would say it is a coincidence yes. This way Warren doesn’t get paid.
