I stopped watching about, I dunno must've been sometime around the 5th, partly because I'm really tired and partly because, as I've mentioned on here before, many British commentators have this weird tendency to deep throat the **** out of any American fighter who is slick or vaguely slick and they won't acknowledge the good work their opponent is doing, even if said opponent is a Brit or Irish, whilst they're gobbling up every last drop of the slick American's goo like it's ambrosia. I'm not saying I had Carroll winning at that point but he was definitely doing better than they were crediting him for doing.

They did it in Farmer's fight against the Japanese dude too whose name escapes me at the moment. IIRC Spencer Oliver only scored one round for the Japanese fighter and the commentators were completely ignoring the quality shots of his opponent which were hard, straight and were actually landing while they were eulogizing about Farmer's air shots lol

Exactly, I've heard enough British commentary to know that sometimes they're more repulsive than the actual Americans slobbing the knobs of so called "slicksters" in the US, its shocking just how easily people fall for their bull****. Same thing happened with Horn-Pacquiao, people are embarrassingly impressionable.

I agree, especially given that he did pretty well early in the frame. But if someone is hurt that badly, then a 10-8 round without a KD does become a possibility.

This was a good fight nevertheless. Totally warmed me up for tomorrow. That fight on the Charles Martin - Gregory Corbin undercard. Spencer something vs Mickie Garcia. I won't miss that one.

Close fight. I thought Farmer was going to completely dominate it but Carroll was extremely impressive. I know Carroll didn't look too good to end the fight but he was actually making Farmer miss a lot throughout, Farmer's poor technique in this fight also helped. I actually thought Carroll was fairly accurate. I gave him credit on a lot of those body shots. Yes, Farmer would try to cover up and make subtle movements to make Carroll miss but he just let Carroll do his thing without a lot of consequence until the last couple rounds. A lot of the rounds I gave to Carroll were won on activity. Farmer would land good shots here and there in those rounds but it was too far in between and he was being outlanded significantly.

    How was this fight close?

I watched the sky commentary and they were suggesting that Carroll should be pulled out after 11 because he was taking a beating and had no chance of winning LOL.

FFS that was Sky cheerleaders hoping their guy gets pulled before he takes a career ending hiding LOL

I love how everyone is acting like Tevin Farmer was the "power puncher" in the equation? Oh... Jono was landing pitty pats, he has a low KO percentage. Yeah... and? Its not like Farmer is ****ing Sergey Kovalev. He landed a few eye catching shots per round, most of which Carroll was completely unaffected by and walked through, then Carroll as @PinoyProdigy noted, proceeded to outwork him for the rest of each round, after Farmer started them well, tightening them up and in some cases edging them by the end. BODY SHOTS COUNT. Why is everyone ignoring the sheer amount that were landed b Carroll? Its bewildering. One guy roughs the other up and does consistent solid body work for 10 rounds, he gets shafted, and the guy that lands three or four haymakers he puts everything into, that have zero effect people view that as a schooling. Quit buying into what the commentators are spewing, they're deceiving you, that's their jobs now, to be propagandists, and storytellers, crafting a narrative to make the A-side always look like he's doing just enough, not to be the fair, balanced and unbiased guides.

Fine, I know I scored it wide for Carroll, and I was openly rooting for him, there were a few close rounds that I could have given to Farmer. But that doesn't change the fact that I saw the match more clearly than the rest of you. @PinoyProdigy probably had the most accurate card tonight, and called it right down the middle, so stop using me to push your agendas, While I may have been overly generous, so was everyone who scored it for Farmer. So get off of your high horses.
