He was fighting an Irish windmill tonight, and never showed the slightest sign of distress or fatigue.
I think back to Vernon Forrest vs. Ricardo Mayorga I. Mayorga wasn't much more effective than Carrol was tonight. Forrest just wilted under the pressure.
I didn't like Tevin Farmer the first few times I saw him, but he is better than I thought he was.

Well, Farmer had a confused look in his eyes.

Quite the contrary, he seemed very focused.

Top 20 guys don't lose to Ogawa and Carroll, like he should have tonight. He's ****. Tank decapitates him.

Mayorga having the power to ko a mule might have something to do with the difference in outcome. I want to see how Farmer does with the best of the division

    Hard comparison to make, imo.

You cant really guage from the outside how much they were feeling the impact of their opponents punches. Meaning, maybe Mayorgas punches were simply more powerful, which in turn caused more stress.

Also... I dont think Vernon wilted under the pressure in the first fight. He tried fighting fire with fire and got lit up.

Second fight he wilted a bit, but Im sure that had something to do with having been already stopped by the guy.

    Hard scenarios to compare, imo.

But your underlying point I agree with. Always nice seeing such mental fortitude and poise.
