Cobb more and more seems to be slipping through the cracks. When ATG chins are discussed among the heavyweights you always get the Chuvalo's, McCall's and to a lesser extent Ali and co.

    But what about Cobb?

Who ate Earnie Shaver's shots like Tex managed to? Potentially the hardest hitting heavyweight of all time couldn't even stun Cobb. He was hitting Tex so hard Tex's entire body was spinning around like some human top. I heard someone compare Tex's head to vulcanized rubber once, and it fits.

And this is only three years after Shaver's had Ali admittably out on his feet.

Even beyond his ATG chin Tex was a 6'3 230 pound heavyweight, a man who'd fit in extremely well with the 90's and current crop of HW's. He also consistently proved against fighters from the caliber of Ken Norton to Buster Douglas he could bring them to the edge with SD and MD losses.

    Thoughts on Tex?

Your quite right on several points mentioned. Cobb did have an awesome chin. If he were in his prime today, he could go a lot farther than he did in the 80's. Not top ten material maybe, but better than a lot of current heavyweights. And oddly enough, I like his acting. lol.
