It kills me how we thought Norton was seriously old and done with by 1980, but Christ, he was only 35 to 36 yrs of age and still a solid 218 pounds........ Norton was not truly that old in '80......... He was fit like an athlete should be....... WORD!

**** it.... Cobb is showing his greeness by standing in front of the more savvy Norton, but Cobb is pressing and throwing constant leather...... After 3 its close, but Norton has got to get his ass going forward and back-up Cobb......

Tex was tough but had no real snap in his punch and always fought green, he relied on a solid chin but he took a hammering in most fights, he was easy to hit and that head and bush of hair sprayed all over. Cobb could wear you down from hitting him like he did Shavers but most of the time he was a big durable target at most

No I scored it for Norton IMO.
It was very close and I think it could've gone either way.
Yeah, cobb had the aggression, and had him on the ropes more, so he was the ring general, but Norton was landing the better shots.

Cobb would batter Cooper, but Cooper would still on his feet for the final bell for a UD loss.

I think Henry's real enemy was the "Sudden Thunder" shot , the out of the Blue stunner, bang on target, perhaps catching Henry coming in....Ala Johanson Folley (motivated in 2nd fight ) or Patterson, these Ko's to Henry were all delivered by superb technicians, ....and thats Not Randy....

Jose Urtain was full of aggression, and Power (more than Cobb), but little in the way of Technique, Henry, used his "Postman's Knock", Jab and Double Jab to
to Matador The Rock throwing Basque Urtain ...he broke him down with his boxing ability and intelligent movement...

Whilst he would not Break-Down Randy, and Randy has a Size and Strengh advantage, Henry was like Wip-cord, always superbly fit, he had no stamina worries, his only worry really is being dragged into a mauling slugfest and the old Bugbear Cuts being instrumental, but how many times was Henry actually stopped by cuts, other than the two memorable times from the blurring Slashing fists of Clay/Ali ??

I think Randy's plodding Streight-Line Approach will hold no dangerous "Ämbush" Potential for Him, the other equation others make is that Henry's Hammer will not Dent Randy's Chin, Agreed...but that does not eliminate the Win capability, for me Henry does as he did to Urtain - Box off The back foot, and get into his Grove with that Jab, Henry''s Star is that Hammer Left Hook, But that Jab is a Fine Understudy...good enough to win the show on this occassion i think.

Cobb laughs at Cooper's assault, takes everything 'enery could offer and beats him up over 10 rounds -- if the cuts stoppage doesn't come first

Cobb would be outboxed for a bit,but his greater size would eventually prevail.

    Cobb by stoppage within seven.

JOWCOL - Many kind thanks, its just an opinion, but do like to show the thought processes behind same. The thing i admire about Henry cooper, despite his somewhat erratic performaces, he paid the customers who paid their hard earned money the ultimate compliament...he trained like a demon and was never less than 100% fit, and theres a lot many more talented Heavies could not say that. Regards Area 53.
