Texas grants margarito a license !!!!

Your right they can charge me for having the gun in my possession but they can't charge me for using it......
(IE:NOT attempted murder, Assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a fire arm within a city limits etc.) Only possession

All they could do is punish Margarito for having the wraps not actually using them like Resto and Lewis that did time back in the 80's, the punishment for having illegal wraps was suspension, the punishment for using them would have been being charged with a crime.

See the difference???.....I know its a fine line and a slippery slope, but that was all they could do to him legally....

Had they caught his wraps after the fight with traces of Paris in Plater he would have been charged, as far as being in incarcerated, that would have been up the judge and jury in the case.....

With Resto he was caught after the bout.......

the asthma medicine accusations only came about (after the fact) in relation to another fight that was broadcast on television where Lewis is heard telling another person in the corner "Give me the other one, the one I mix." Resto confessed what that was, but he only did time for fighting Billy Collins with loaded gloves.....

Margarito did not do the same thing because Brother Nazim caught the wraps being put on before the bout......had brother Nazim caught him after the bout, then there would have been legal grounds to charge him......

long story short, basically Resto wen to Prison for cheating, Margarito was suspended for trying to cheat (as not actually getting the chance to)

 

He was always willing to fight anyone!!

His wraps did not have "Traces of Plaster of Paris"...The BEST the CSAC could coupe up was finding "TRACES of Sulphur and Calcium, two elements that are found in Plaster of Paris", conviniently leaving out that it is also found in SKIN CELLS, HAIR, SWEAT, BLOOD, Hand LOTIONS and a gazillion other things :deal.

With Resto he was caught with tampered gloves who had the PADDING REMOVED, replaced with Horse hair, and PLASTER!

What Resto did and what Margarito is being ACCUSED of are two completely different situations.

They could charge him with attempted battery..but of course there is not sufficient evidence...The ONLY thing they got on Margarito is that he had old wraps. It is illegal to use old wraps...it is illegal to use wraps with a foreign substance even sweat. :deal

The hand wraps confiscated from former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito shortly before his title defense against "Sugar" Shane Mosley contained two primary elements of plaster of Paris, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing documents obtained from California's top law enforcement agency.
A California Department of Justice senior criminalist who inspected the wrappings under a stereomicroscope and with an X-ray fluorescence spectrometer determined the wraps contained sulfur and calcium, according to a document obtained by the Times. Those two elements, with the addition of oxygen, make plaster of Paris.
The hand wraps were removed from Margarito's fists shortly before his Jan. 24 title fight against Mosley when Mosley's trainer, Nazim Richardson, objected to their use. The hardened gauze pads, which had been inserted inside the hand wraps near Margarito's knuckles, were seized by the California State Athletic Commission, which sanctions and oversees boxing in the state.
Mosley went on to claim a TKO win in the ninth round and take the WBA welterweight title.
In February, following a hearing days after the fight, the state athletic commission revoked the licenses of Margarito and his trainer, Javier Capetillo, for one year. The commission's decision is likely to be upheld in other states.
"The [state athletic] commission's decision appears to be supported by that report," said Karen Chappelle, the state supervising deputy attorney general for licensing who urged the state commission to revoke Margarito's and Capetillo's licenses.
"The only things that are allowed in hand wraps are gauze and tape and those items aren't gauze and tape," she said, according to the Times.

They were in clear violations of any Boxing rules yet people want to defend this cheat ?? Not even Trinidad did something as bold !!

Also two athletic commsions denied him a licennse but he was innocent I wonder why ??

 

The biased commission had to make up something to refuse Margarito a license, they claimed that he sparred without a license! LOL!

So...........California loses a huge fight due to prejudice! Texas gets the big fight and gains lots of money! I am glad the bigots did not win.
