Thabiso Mchunu vs. Thomas Oosthuizen RBR

Liebenberg won via 5th round stoppage. Didn't actually see the finish, but it looked like he was overpowering Tissen, and I guess just overwhelmed his dead game opponent after a while. 4th round did feature a pretty stirring rally from Tissen, but it just wasn't enough.

 

Oosthuizen is much taller than Mchunu, it looked weird at the weigh in tbh but let's be honest: Oosthuizen isn't something special. Very average fighter imo in all aspects of the game. Mchunu is slick af and powerful.

 

That's not even factoring in the fact that Oos is 195 pounds now, 20 pounds heavier than he's ever been. We have no idea how he's going to function, and with the fact that he's recently done time in jail and has lost all his original trainers and promoters tells me he just doesn't have his life on track and isn't doing things properly.

 

That bird in the red outfit was smoking hot !

To be fair he was probably cutting weight to make smw-LHW

 

Oosthuizen damn, that's a name I totally forgotten. Remember was quite hyped about him for some time.

 

I understand that. It still doesn't make him a functional cruiserweight.

It's showing through the first two rounds of this fight.

Ooshuizens chin is so up that is looks almost like beginnerish

 

Not much in the 3rd but Ooshuizens ate a massive counter shot right before the bell.

 

Tommy takes the 5ith by virtue of workrate and a decent flourish at the end of the round. Mchunu's tendency to throw sparingly might be working against him in this fight.

 

I really don't like how stiff Oosthuizen is and his chin is up high. So far he is doing ok but he looks very vulnerable with his defence. Wouldnt be surprised if one massive left hook ends this. Mchunu isnt though the biggest puncher.
