This is what's slowly killing boxing, the haters. The "I'll never watch that guy fight cause he sucks" comments are taken to heart with casual boxing fans. They do it to the Klits, they do it to Mayweather, they did it to Oscar and Lewis. You never hear any bull**** like this about an MMA fighter champ or not, even the worst ones who are all ground fighters and boring as hell. And dismissing such a brutal knockout in a heavyweight championship fight? atsch Thanks for making the sport of boxing look worse in the eyes of casual boxing fans. :verysad
So are you. A knock out in the final seconds of the 12th rnd is right out of a Hollywood script. It's just that you wanted Wlad to lose and he won again so he's "boring". Try offering some insight into the sport and you may not be boring either :good
I agree with this. I think outside of his brother there just is no one out there who can really challenge Wlad and make him have to fight so there is no incentive to change up his game plan. Blame goes to the shape of the division than Wlad. Even if he knocked these guys out in 6 rounds or less people would find something to complain about, because these guys are clearly not as talented as Wlad let alone his size and skill.
Hollywood script ending? You are really really reaching. Froch's KO of Taylor or Chavez' stopping Taylor were Hollywood worthy but a 12 round blowout that happened to end in a KO isn't special.
I didn't see the fight although I paid for it  You're right if it was more competitive and it ended the way it did that would be more entertaining but I can't recall many boxing movies where the main event ended in the 1st rnd :smoke
Though I usually agree with your posts, I disagree with parts of yours here. Painfully boring fighters have to bear some blame. I mean, I understand they are there to win the fight, but at the end of the day, people will turn off. I watched Vitali's last title defense with a friend from work, trying to get him back into boxing. (He quit watching about 10 years ago). When the fight was over he was incredulous. "How can a big guy like that who weighs 50 pounds more than his opponent box like that. He can't even call himself a fighter." Needless to say he won't be watching boxing anytime soon again. Now I know I bear some blame, as I shouldn't have picked that fight to try to get him back into the sport, but my friend wasn't upset with fans of fighters bagging fighters, he was pissed that a heavyweight champ of the world fought we ZERO agression, ZERO passion, and ZERO excitement. That is what is hurting the sport. Keith
