Why bother posting pointless out and out lies such as this? The ring's own website (http://www.thering-online.com/ringpages/ratings2.html) confirms that Lazcano has been top ten ranked at 140 for almost 2 years (i.e. basically since he moved up from lightweight).
Like you said the fight should have happened way back then but still, before the Bradley fight Witter was on a very long winning streak, held the green belt and was ranked no.2 by Ring. I don't believe in shitty fights like Lazcano, even if Ricky just lost to Floyd. Hattosn had enough easy fight's and in other pro fighting sports guys just get straight back in their with the cream of the crop. It happpens in boxign too. Look what Taylor did after he was destroyed by7 Pavlik. He went straight back in their with the same man. Hatton could have and should have taken Bradley's place and took that green belt form Witter the other night and shut EVERYONE up. He did'nt want to take the risk though. Hatton dug that hole so deep a loss to Witter would have ruined him and he knew it. The truth is that Hatton, even after how poorly Witter boxed the other night, still didnt fancy the Witter fight. If he ever fancied that fight it woudl have happend ages ago.
I agree with that,i just noticed your subtly clever use of terms to describe the fans, nothing to do with the fighters;Hatton didnt want to go near Witter, agreed.:good Answer me this though-Would you rather be called somebody who 'champions' joe bloggs,or a 'Joe Bloggs nuthugger'? You put yourself in a better light with those terms, thats my point. But in general,i agree with the spirit of the post,i just cant help spotting 'verbal' tricks.Your parting shot didnt need the 'nuthuggers' term,if it was meant as a humble climb down.:good
Not 2 years, a year and 10 months odd and considering he has no good enough wins at Light Welter and has been Inactive since he lost to Harris, It's dodgey how he's there. My Intention wasn't to lie either, I didn't notice him In their rankings till recently so I made an error there. A motivated Witter still KO's Hatton, he was more thinking about Ricky than Bradley probably.
This is fair enough and props to Taylor for getting straight back there in a rematch. But taking a step down in opposition for a comeback after suffering your fiirst loss is hardly a new concept. It is a well established practice in boxing and a way of allowing the fighter to get some confidence back and work on improving some aspects of his game. Look at the likes of Oscar DLH (comeback v Derrell Coley), Trinidad (v Cherifi), Lennox Lewis (v Lionel Butler), Junior Witter (v Steve Conway). As for Lazcano, the guy is ranked top 10 by every independent boxing publication and is a genuine contender level fighter, though not quite good enough to make the step to champion level. If a fight against him is "shitty" then it's because of how good Hatton is, not any knock against Lazcano.
True, that would be what was with the "ALMOST two years". He has victories over Courtney Burton and Ben Tackie at 140, plus a lot of good wins at 135. His loss to Harris was very close and Harris is a top ten fighter anyway. All of the independent boxing publications(Ring, KO, Boxing Monthly etc...) have him in their top ten. In any case, whether you think Lazcano deserves his top 10 ranking or not, the issue I was highlighting was that the initial post basically stated that he had only been given it because he was fighting Hatton who was buddies with the Ring mag's owners. If he's been top 10 for nearly two years, that is obviously not the case. As for thinking more about Hatton than Bradley, I'm quite sure he was, hell the guy thinks about Hatton more than anything else in the entire world, probably jerking off to posters of him at night as well. Nonetheless, it hasn't stopped him winning fights before.
Lewis pushed for an immediate rematch with McCall, and McCall himself was said to be very open to it It was Don King that gave it a hearty "**** you, I've been in the heavyweight wilderness for 4 years and I'm not putting my new meal ticket at risk right away thankyouverymuch." Okay, King's actual public quote on the matter was that old chestnut "Lewis's chances are slim and none, and slim just left town", but I'm reading between the lines here... The Butler fight was a WBC #1 eliminator bout, and Butler was The Ring's #10 at the time. So it wasn't quite the dip in quality as it might appear. That's my pedantic Lewis post for today...
Fair enough, just utilising a few examples to support my point. I could bring some others into it, for example Judah (vs Omar Weiss), Tszyu (vs Ismael Chaves). The basic point is that going "back to the drawing board" so to speak after a first pro loss is far from unique to Ricky Hatton, though you wouldn't know it from some of the comments the haters come out with.
The answer to this is that Ajose has won every title available to him as pro to date. Nigerian, West African, African, WBF Intercontinental, Commonwealth titles.
Tuffnuts well said, however there are some people that still beileve that Witter diserves a shot at Hatton.:?
Man i was just pissed at any Hatton fan who would'nt give Witter any credit what so ever no matter what he did. Those guys are the true nuthuggers my posts have always been aimed at. Of course there are Hatton fans who speak the truth. I'm a Hatton fan myself when he performs or takes a risky fight. You've got to give the man respect and get excited when he took on Magee, Tszyu, Floyd and Castillo and i would have been very happy to end this all once and for all if Hatton beat Witter. And on saturday nights perfomance Hatton would have stopped him imo. :good
I think Shitty was the wrong word to use but honestly Hatton could have jumped back in the ring with anyone imo. I understand that it happens all the time mate but really it should'nt. I think Witter's perfomance the other night showed that Hatton could have got straight back in the ring with a belt older and taken that Green belt from Witter.
Mate i know you have connections to Ajose but that is a bull**** statement right there. Zab has mixed it with the VERY VERY best and doesnt give anyone an easy ride. He has shared a ring with PBF, Cotto, Tszyu, Spinks x2, Witter, Corley and Baldomir. All are light years ahead of what Ajose has faced. His last two outings were against Nigel Wright where he looked flat and Alex Spitko. Crazy comment to make.
You can't fight like that, lose and expect a fight with Hatton. Witter was in a great position and it all went down the shitter! :-(
