Thank god the klitschko era is officially over

Klitschko retiring is one of the saddest things about this division. 10 year under their rule, and the worthy challengers appeared when both are past 40.

I side it so odd that a fighter as dominant and experienced as klitschko has such glaring holes in his offense. Absolute 0 in fighting ability and never works the body. His 1-2 used to be on the best in the game, even though Wlad is an ATG in terms of dominance, for me his height, physique, home town refereeing helped him so much in the era of out of shape HWs.

 

Do tell me, who did Wlad ever duck? He quite literally has gone through the entire to 10, systematically. I wish the giants came about when he was 35

I could ask you a similar question. Who did Wlad actually beat? Wlad's reign which was preceded by two savage KO losses in his prime wasn't historically impressive. He ruled the weakest division of his era. But because it happened to be at HW we call him an ATG. I say to that, no. Imagine for example somebody came along and dominated the weakest division in boxing right now (168 pounds) and it stayed pure trash for 10 years. Would that fighter be an ATG. Hell no.

 

Considering that Wlad hasn't ever actually beaten an half decent HW then maybe the question isn't who did he duck rather who beat he beat?

 

You can only beat whomever is there. He has Haye, Povetkin, Mercer, Mcline, Ibragimov, Chagaev just off the top of my head, and he fought them a with the exception of Mercer at their absolute best.

I do know those, but they make no sense together. Everyone avoids defeat, and tries their best to succeed. And what does Calzaghe have to do with this?

 

This giant HW fighter has only size advantages. When he faced the fighter the same size as him he got serious troubles.

When he faced smaller fighters, he used his reach and his height to keep them at bay and beat them by using his boxing style which was very boring to watch.

 

He's had a great career bruh...

 

Don't fault him for being big. He used his advantages. He's been beaten and has beat good fighters his whole career. His reign lacked an equal in the latter part of his career. That means he dominated ugly or not.
