Super welterweight Don Juan Futrell (20-3-1, 10 KOs) scored an upset split decision over former #1 contender Hector Camacho Jr. (42-3—1, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Avi Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. Camacho came in woefully out of shape at 161 pounds and was outworked by the 150-pound Futrell all night long. At the end, Camacho was gassed and bleeding above both eyes. Scores were 76-75, 76-75 Futrell, 76-75 Camacho. Futrell was deducted a point in round six for a low blow. Promoter: Zef Ramirez.
