Green achieved quite a bit for a 'limited, one dimensional' fighter.

For a start he was involved of 2 of the all-time top 5 fights on Australian soil:

    1/ Green vs Mundine 2006
2/ Green vs Roy Jones Jnr 2009

Think his time has come though. Go enjoy the money Danny Green.

i hope he retires now... he put boxing back in the spotlight for the average Aussie and for that we owe him a big thank you... they werent always the best opponents but at least he got people talking about the sport and kids putting on gloves

    I enjoyed watching him fight.

It's definitely time for him to hang 'em up now.

    I agree with u Gonzo....

not always the best but at least h ebrought some big names down under n got people excited about the fights!

N at least he created some fights with a bit of excitement. Casual fans were buzzin about the Jones Jr fight... i was even itchin for it and i knew full well Roy's best days were behind him....

Danny can be proud of what he's achieved.

My take on this is that Danny could not handle a top level SOUTHPAW
He was lost without a compass in this fight and the 7th round was the only round he solved this only to abandon this winning game plan and go back in his shell.

    Spot on M.

Green went to his left, went to his right, and went to his left again. But that left hand of Tarver's just kept finding him.

For a limited fighter Green has done very very well for himself.

I just don't think this is his last fight.

i dont think he wants to go out on a loss, but i am a green fan and want to see him do whats best in terms of his health, he certainly doesnt need the money. I still dont understand the level of hate that he generates, sure briggs and siaca were bad fights and im sure if he could take them back he would, but he did bring massive exposure to this sport in australia and the work he has done with young boxers is incredible , im not saying you have to love the guy but he does deserve respect and some applause for his achievements, and most posters on here do give him that.

For the most part he exploited the Australian public off the back of Mundine and became a millionaire.

Well said. He was always exciting to watch and did Australia proud in most his fights.
