Boxing is better w/o primadonnas crying all the time about money or respect, or how a certain fighter is not worth their time. Thank you for retiring Floyd. No more holding the 147 crown hostage while you price yourself out of real fights. You were a blast to watch from 1996 to about 2002.

Boxing would clearly be better off if he was still fighting. If he was truley unimportant, people wouldn't still be talking about him. He was a great talent, and a polarizing figure. It will be hard to find another fighter with his combination of talent and appeal.

Floyd though a gifted fighter was good for the sport but was not the heart of it ..I truly beleive that fighters like Manny are ..This is what the sport needs ..

Fighters who will continue to fight and not let money be the determing factor every single time ..I don't have a problem with any fighter making big $$ they risk their lives for our amusement ..But pre madonnas like Floyd do eventually hurt their own reputaion ..If he really was the face of the sport he would be severly missed like say MJ in basketball but this is not the case because of his antics ..

I loved what he did in the ring but the persona started to over shadow his brilliance ..Luckily we have fighters like Manny !

I like Manny. However, all of his fights are on PPV. He has a solid fanbase, but he's going to have a hard time growing it if he continues to exclusivley fight on PPV. I can't remember the last time I watched a live Pacquiao fight. I understand the first Barrera fight, or the Marquez fight, or the Morales fights being on ppv, but I don't see why the Solis fightr or the Larios fight or the second Barrera fight or the Diaz fight were on PPV.

Lol, your average American boxing fan would be like "Manny who" if you asked him about Manny. Floyd is a crossover star, Manny will never be that. He's fights at lightweight and is filipino lol.

You people need to get over Floyd. He brought boxing back into the mainstream for atleast a few years.
