He showed us all what boxing is about. The best fighters in the world fighting each other. No matter if it's the right moment or not - apparently. No cherry picking. No ducks. He came back from mental illness and drug addiction, lost 150 pounds and fought the most feared man in boxing within ~12-15 months. AND BEAT HIM! What's boxing about in 2018? Champions ducking the best, Champions waiting for the right moment to fight well known names (either they're old or inactive) . Tyson Fury hopefully is a role model and we'll get some cracking fights in 2019! THANK YOU, TYSON FURY.
Also he made himself alot of new fans here in America. Alot of people who I talked to at the sports bar where I watched the fight said after that they will be Fury fans. Fury coming to America was a risk but It paid off because he's made a shitload of new fans here.
Fury vs Joshua is the only fight out there. Wilder is no longer a factor in this division. I agree, Mr. Fury, thanks! You could not beat Wilder, the WBC, and the crooked judges.
He also deserves respect for not instigating a riot. He handled the dubious judges verdict with pure grace and class. A lot of his country men were in the crowd and with alcohol involved, had Fury acted like a jerk or let his emotions just get the best of him, things could of turned ugly. Items could of been thrown into the ring etc. from where Fury came from, to his performance in the fight, to his getting up in the final round on tired legs., Fury really captivated fans all over the world. And while Wilder didn’t fare well overall credit to him for having never stopped trying in the fight, for pressing on and nearly having his money punch bail him out. A lot of fighters would of mentally quit in that fight. Shame the judges bungled a perfect night for the sport. But both fighters deserve ton of credit
There is so much wrong with this I am actually logging out, I can't deal with this utter drivel any more. Wilder and Fury fanboys have taken it too far. I'm starting to ask the question if I missed a thread/post/meeting and there is actually a competition to see who can be the biggest bellends. See you all in a week or two, this is now beyond ridiculous. Wilder described as "The most feared man in boxing" and thanking a man (Fury) who was banned for PED's and has seen more white lines than a motorway. Errr yeah mate, he is without doubt a "role model", go on thank him again, actually go on twitter and see if you can meet up and stick your head up his a-hole in person. FFS there should be mods deleting this crap, I'm all for expressing opinions but this is now a joke.
So many overemotional, sappy posts here lately. Is this a boxing forum or a teenage boyband meet & greet. Get a grip.
Try again. I don't like Wilder at all, it's a real shame how the heavyweight division has played out where an unskilled fighter has been sitting with the WBC strap for so long. If only Povetkin was given the chance to end him in Russia all those years back we never would have been in this situation. And Fury wouldn't have been credited with drawing or in some eyes winning the fight against the 'baddest man on the planet' either. The whole thing is a farce in my eyes.
