Respect to Vitali. never considered myself a fan nor a hater, just uninterested in seeing his fights. his reign will be spoken highly of in the future. he's boring but you gotta respect a winner.

A true class act outside the ring and a great champion inside the ropes. He will be missed. Best of luck in your new endeavors.

What is it with people like you or maybe Americans like you? It's Klitschkos, plural, Wladimir and Vitali are not one individual! Dumb ass yanks, (not all, I know some good ones) have always directed this 'boring' crap at Vitali. Moronic.
Wladimir, maybe the most boring heavyweight titleholders of all time, Vitali, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.

His legacy in the sport will grow as the years go by, no matter what the critic's say, in 20 years from now, people are gonna look at his record and say 'Wow, look what this guy did'! Simple as that.

the idiots who post tko 6 yeah like lewis ever got over that nonsense he went into retirement and only came out every time vitali fought someone to say "oh THIS .. THIS is the guy whose gonna beat vitali I've given him alot of advice on how to do it this is the time someone rights all my wrongs"

yeah the guy won but acts like he stole something lol

Yeah, he could have done with a few better challengers but as I mentioned, in the future, long after he's retired and his critic's have gone away, there will always be the Lewis fight. Lennox Lewis, an all time great, Vitali is ahead before being stopped on cut's. His win against Peter may be more lauded and who know's, if Arreola go's on a bit of a run, his win there will look better. I always liked his win over Herbie Hide, fair enough, hide was not an all time great but the way Vitali ran over him was impressive. Kirk Johnson, sure he was fat the night he fought Vitali but Kirk was a very good heavyweight. I think his competition, although all in all it would have been nice if it was better, was better than it's perceived.

I was a big Lennox fan but he was obviously shitting his pants at the thought of stepping in the ring with Vitali again.

It's just his era & misfortune in the Lewis fight...Also Wlad preventing him of being undisputed is what hurt him most

In reality he was a solid guy, but legacy is by achievements...otherwise we will open up the door for Ike Ibeabucci and everyone who had bad luck...

Vitali is better off, healthy, wealthy & will be remembered as a solid Heavyweight champion who was never dominated

Vitali man, you will be missed.
Seen almost every major fight, and a couple of the smaller ones. Enjoyed them immensly.

On to the next career, and hopefully (certainly for the Ukraine's sake) just as succesful. :good

Achievements, what do you call the greatest KO percentage of any champion until his last few fights which pushed him into 2nd. Winning the the title back after 4 years out of the ring with no warm up fight? You can't just discard these thing's! These are not achieved by solid fighters, never have been achieved by 'just' solid fighters and never will be achieved by solid fighters. It is achieved by 'great' champions. To call him a 'solid' performer is disrespectful.
