Ok, so he may continue to keep fighting, but after being stopped tonight any shot of a meaningful fight to end his career has most likely gone out the window. He was one of my favorite fighters for a number of years, and I'm really sorry he never got a chance at a big fight. I remember for a while there was talk of a fight with Gatti, which I think would have been a great scrap. Either way, I wish him the best if he continues to fight, or if he retires.

Yup, this is the end of the line. One of the most entertaining fighters of the last decade, 2nd to only Roy Jones for in-ring antics.

Thanks for the all the great memories Drunken Master. You may have been just a journeyman, but I think you'll go down as the most entertaining journeymen of all time!

I was really sad when i heard he was stopped...The "Drunken Master" was a true fans fighter and an incredible warrior...His war with Ward was one of the greatest fight I've ever seen...Its time now that he hang them up before he gets hurt...He gave enough to the sport...

Just wanted to give this a well deserved bump. Someone asked if Floyd was a big fight, in a way, yes, but floyd was an up and coming fighter, and I meant he never got to fight for a title. So, no I don't think that was a big fight for him.

Someone else said he's fighting on the 28th, that's been listed for a few weeks, I highly doubt he fights, especially after getting knocked out. A lot of commissions make a fighter wait a few months before fighting again, so highly doubt he'll be fighting in a week after taking that beating.

He's one of the reasons I first got into boxing, I remember the floyd fight being on the afternoon HBO show where they had DJ's and what not, and I think I found the fight on accident, and became a fan ever since.

Emanuel knew a long time ago that big payday was never coming. Boxing has been his life for more than a decade, hard to give that up.

Maybe an overstatement from a fan, but this guy was truly ahead of his time.

I give the brass at ESPN a ton of credit for recognizing his talent.

I could be wrong, but I remember hearing his fights have been the highest rated, with the exception of maybe Ward they were watching all for him.

Sucks he got robbed against Figurora, as that was a tough way to head out on the big stage. Either way, I'll be trying to find a EA career set here soon.
