Sorry you didn't get to work in the ring like you did in practice. If it makes you feel any better I had the fight 114-114.......but obviously my opinion doesn't matter :\
Mad respect to Ding for taking the time to post here and being a true sport when faced with defeat. Good on ya bro.
Ding, Thanks for taking the time to post after last nights fight. I had you winning a close fight. Don't let the **** decision knaw at you too much, just learn from it. Remember the old saying, "If it doesn't kill you it'll make you stronger." Another one regarding a negative experience, "It grows rings around your trunk." Best wishes from a fan. Go do something fun today.
Coward? I respect ding but it takes two to tango, it is not lets see who hits hareder it's hit and not get hit and Bj outboxed him plain and simple, I had it 116 112 flores, it was a good fight technically for him. He took some good shots and used a decent jab...coward lol
Ding, win or lose your living a lot our dreams right now lol... i would do anything to have multiple fights on ESPN... and you were ranked in the top 10 of ring in your division, TOP 10 in the WORLD. You will have that forever... I hope you come back stronger man.... he was pretty fast, and you almost pulled it out near the end.
I was worried before this fight that Flores might be able to do the whole stick 'n' move slickster act to impress the judges, that Ding would go so much for the knockout that he'd give away rounds looking for those KO punches. It sounds like it was like that but Ding still had a good shot at deserving the nod even still. Given that the losers of a close fight are almost always utterly pissed-off and spitting venom at everyone, I think it's a tremendous credit to you, Ding, that you can bottle up some of your disappointment. Taking the time to post here is particularly awesome of you. Keep that chin up and keep swinging, I think this loss will not hurt your image as an exciting fighter much at all and I pity your next opponent!
Very honourable of you to come out in this way Ding. Respects to you. I think you just need to look back and figure out how you can improve from here, don't worry losing is only a shortcut to winning in the long run. Good luck and keep your head up.
I thought you barely pulled it off. Tell you something. Everybody knows you have knockout power. That means you have power to the body as well. There were opportunities to the body, some where you even layed a glove on BJ's body to set up something heavy to the head. If you lay into the body a mover, you might not knock them out, but at the very least you will slow them down for a moment to give you a shot at the head.. As you know, body work is cumulative. Your power doesn't fade in the late rounds.. Its almost a no brainer for a fighter like yourself to invest in the body early on. I saw the whole thing, trying to set up the rear uppercut with the left hook.. You came very close several times. Guys like Teddy Atlas and everyone talk about how your looking to counter, drawing opponents in, and for the most part you have that down. In the clinch, and in your combo's, I'd like to see you commit to the body punches as much as you do your head punches. I wouldn't be surprised if you floor guys with your kind of power. Cheers, and good training!
I gotta say I enjoyed watching you fight, and I didn't even know that you posted on ESB until now. I wanted to see you drop Flores cause he was playing hit and run and that pisses me off. As far as the Valium and Ambien is concerned, you should taper off it a day or two before fight night. Yeah you might not get as much sleep, but you won 't have that groggy zombie like feeling that you can't shake off. I know a couple guys who do that and they say that even though they can't get as much sleep before the fight, that they still feel good when they get in the ring. Anyways it can affect your work rate and become a distraction so get a handle on it man, you could have won that fight!
Ding you need to stop throwing wild and Box a little more, that guy was completely beatable no matter how much slicker or faster he was. You Got Ouboxed but learn from your mistakes and bounce back.
