Will was not ignoring that, he stated clearly he gave the fight to Machida in his opinion. He also stated that under the rules MMA you have to win 2/3 rounds to win the fight on the judges card and even though Rampage did less damage in the 1st two rounds than Lyoto did in the 3rd, he did enough to win them on the Judges scorecards. I understand that maybe English isnt your 1st language, but this flame 1st ask questions later malarky isn winning you any friends. Instead of trying to be a ****ing smart arse, just ask Will to clarify his point for you.
maybe it was to long ago i watched the fight but i think i remember giving machida 1st and 3rd round. even rampage admitted it as a lose and that takes a lot.
The 1st or 2nd could have gone either way, And why are you insulting me? It was Will being the smart ass in the first place.

If you accept that the first or the second could have gone either way why are you bitching at the idea that Jackson ended up the winner My entire point was that due to flaws in Machida's gameplan he let Jackson steal rounds in the eyes of the judges before really turning it up a notch in the third atsch
Will, I got sidetracked, sorry, my point was about comparing Couture right now to Rampage, in watching Couture, it is very difficult for me to say that he could be as effective, even if Rampage has slowed down himself, Couture just looks like he wants to smother you from the first second, its easier to defend takedowns when you know they are coming. Someone else who did this with more speed was Rashad, and Machida was able to handle him fairly decisivly, sorry but I think it is very nostalgic to claim that Couture can still keep up with today's top teir LHWs.
I don't think he can either but I think he felt he could catch Machida out due to a favourable stylistic matchup. You see this all the time in boxing - the veteran notices something they can exploit in a younger fighter, handpicks them as their opponent and shocks the world with a better than expect performance. Although he lost on the scorecards the recent Morales-Maidana fight was a good example of this. And given how flat Machida looked in those first two rounds against Jackson I think there's a chance that could have happened.
And yes the Machida that fought Evans would easily despatch Couture but that wasn't the same Machida who fought on November 23rd 2010
Morales-Maidana is a good example, b/c this would be the best case for Randy IMO, did you think he beat Brandon Vera? Brandon's is kind of a poor man's striker who also had some confidence issues.
My instant reaction at ringside was that Vera had won 29-28. In retrospect I think Couture did a better job imposing his gameplan and making Vera fight his fight. The interesting thing is that we very nearly got Machida-Couture at UFC 113 due to Shogun's health problems. Now that would have been interesting considering how demoralised Machida looked against Shogun at that event.
Shogun's got wicked power, I just think he was a beast in that first round and surprised Machida who was prepared for a more paced fight.
