His age doesn't change the fact that he has been avoided, which is what gets you the booegeyman reputation, just like Golovkin and Beterbiev. Ortiz may have have ****ed it up and will never get a title shot(rightly so), but he was indeed one of the most avoided fighters in the last couple of years.
I don't think he's as avoided as Golovkin was. The hype surrounding him scared people and served as a massive hindrance to his career. FWIW I think much of the talk was hyperbole but it is what it is. Has Luis Ortiz ever had that kind of rep precede him? I don't think he has. Outside of that Jennings knock out he's never impressed me that much with any given performance.
I remember like half a dozen fighters turnşng down a fight with him last yer(Ustinov and Browne are two names that spring to mind right now, and noone in the top5 ever replied his Call outs until Wilder's Team approached him this year.) His Win over Jennings was more impressive than anything GGG had done back when Sturm, Barker, Mundine avoided him like the plague around 2010-11(G's best win was Khomitsky or Bouadla at that Point) and It's certainly far more impressive than anything Beterbiev has done, and still noone at LHW will fight Artur. The only one who became a boogeyman after an elite Win was Rigondeaux, after he beat Donaire.
