Stevenson has Al Haymon. He makes business decisions based on value and what the market will bear in the best interest of his fighters.

Kovalev has been calling out Stevenson for a long time now, HBO wanted to have Kovalev and Stevenson fight, but Stevenson does not want to fight Kovalev, so he went to Showtime...........

As long as HBO holds firm and they will since they can get by creating their own stars like they did last year...this will all blow up in Haymons and GBP face. Showtime can't fund their giant roster.

Showtime doesn't have an unlimited boxing budget. In fact, their budget is smaller than HBO's budget. All these money hungry fools think they're going to get rich by fighting twice a year on Showtime instead of 3-4 times a year on HBO.

Just reading this entire thread and it's flooded by idiots fantasizing that they are big player managers like Haymon. Jeez, at least pretend that you actually like the sport of boxing.

 

This all started when GBP tried to leverage their new buddy buddy relationship with their former lawyer at Showtime into long term guaranteed contracts at HBO for guys like Broner to keep headlining against soft opponents. When HBO said no their plan went to sh1t and now they will run Showtime into the ground with mismatches circa HBO from a few years ago. They had a banner year last year with Showtime as a sign of good faith but just look at all the tune-ups this spring. Soon their fighters will get restless with all the downtime and GBP will become what Don King is today.
