Lesnar has no idea how to strike. I am sure most light HW can strike harder than him, he basically pushes with his fist, he really doesn't have a clue.

One thing Lesnar is the antithesis of is boring. Even though the hype train has been derailed probably for good he will still get good fights and continue to be entertaining. I was pleased with both the Carwin fight and with this latest fight. I don't have a big rooting interest for any certain fighter although I did prefer Cain to Brock in terms of his lowkey demeanor. The UFC should not have cut Duffee so soon. Duffee vs Brock would have been a nice addition to any future PPV card. Not as the main attraction but as a co-main event.

the worst part of it all that lesnar was being hyped as the baddest man on the planet who has a worse stand up game than your average 33 year old average joe blow

He was actually striking and moving while on the floor. I think he has improved but its hard to improve while you are a champion facing that level of competition. Even if he beat Cain, he would then be called upon to strike with someone on the level of JDS. It's a tall order.

Brocks probably been hit in his life time the same amount of times an amateur boxer is hit in a year.

Fighters have huge ego's. Brock knows he is big, strong and a good wrestler so he relies on it. Like Khans speed, Foremans power, his strength/wrestling has been found out as Cain presented him with a well rounded game.

Brock can learn from this like Haye learnt from Thompson and Khan learnt from Prescott. Similarly like Brock learnt from Mir.

Other fighters at the same stage will have tried to get a takedown, been stuffed a few times but still gone on to win. This would have taught them to change their game up. Similarly, Brock would have been stunned by someone like Kongo but been able to go on to win. It would have made him change his game up. Against Carwin he was lucky that the ref didn't stop it and Carwin gassed. Against Cain he had neither of these luxuries!

Brock needs to go away and start boxing and bjj 24/7. He can still keep his core as a wrestler but other martial arts must assist his core style. Much like Chucks wrestling/tdd assisted his striking.

Brock also bum rushed Cain in the same way he bumrushed Mir the first time. He must've thought he had to win early. Brock will learn from that, be more patient and have confidence in his gameplan and work.

It is possible that Brock is a moron and not learn anything. He'll just make excuses to himself and continue along his way. Hopefully he taps into his potential as his striking and BJJ can improve. Cain and Carwin are punchers but neither of them put his lights out. If he can get some striking experience then he can improve.

One training camp won't make the difference. He needs to live like a MMA. Much like GSP does. All year round he is training and learning.

Cain has only been in mma a little bit longer than Brock, Brock has years and years of wrestling experience and has been training mma for over 4 years. He also has enough money to build whatever camp he wishes and train in a manner that an up and coming fighter typically couldn't, due to other constraints. The green excuse has no validity.

Mir was in no mans land before the first Lesnar fight, it was that fight that the UFC rebuilt his name off of, Mir is also a perfect stylistic match up for a good wrestler as he probably has the worst wrestling at heavyweight in mma. Mir nearly has as bad instincts as Lesnar when getting hit.

Coulture is nearly fifty years old for christsake and has dropped a division. He stuffed TD's had brock grab the fence and was asserting himself before he got stopped. He has no chin anymore.

Has Herring even fought since? He is done.

Carwin was absolutley destroying Brock but completely gassed, Brock showed fortitude to come back but he subbed out a zombie.

Yes a world class heavyweight amateur boxer could come in to boxing and beat a fifty year old lightheavyweight with no chin left.

Brock has been exposed, he is pretty much a smaller version of Sapp with good wrestling. He cannot deal with any type of pressure and just curls up when hit with any type of punch.

Due to wrestling being the dominant art in MMA and a lack of decent strikers, he can still beat a lot of guys because of his style. MMA is still weak talent wise at heavy but that window is closing. You can not hope to be an elite fighter with zero striking and a pathological fear of getting hit. He has no courage under fire, he won't learn it. Exposed is the perfect word.

I would respond if I didn't think you were being unreasonable and illogical.

i think it's time for Lesnars training team to update their most over-used quote about Brock 'He's a 270 pound guy who moves like a 170 pound guy (and can take a punch like an 85 pound girl)'

If brock wasn't visably losing the fight before he landed the lucky right hand you'd have a point. It's not the fact that you win, it's important no doubt, but also its how you look when you're winning. I think you're comparing apples to oranges by comparing hopkins to couture. Hopkins has shown he can take a punch at his age, randy not so much. Not to mention boxing is a completely different sport than MMA. Your analogy is superficial at best.

2nd mir fight is a legit win. Carwin not so much. Again, its not the fact that he won, it's how did he look when he was fighting. Carwin destroyed him in the first round then gassed. Not very impressive.

Right! and if he lived up to the hype than he would do more than just win, he would win in proportin to his hype.

Can't justify the hype because you need to do more than win. If you're hyped as "The baddest man on the planet" than you need to fight like the baddest man on the planet. IF every one of his fights were like his 2nd mir fight or close too it than you'd have a point, but all of his fights with the exception of 1 have shown us that he isn't living up to that hype, this recent loss just solidified that.

Not a hater, Im just not buying into the hype. He is hyped as "the baddest man on the planet" and is certainly not living up to that hype. Now maybe if he was hyped as "The potential to be the baddest man on the planet after learning some stand up and grappling" I would buy into it, but as of now, Lesnar is/was a hype job. I pray Gods blessing on Him though and I definitley respect him for getting in the ring.

I love the revisionist history that runs rampant whenever anyone discusses how once great Pride fighters were suddenly washed up the moment they stepped inside the octagon.

  11. Nah

'He's a 270 pound guy who can run like a 170 pounder, can take a punch like a 85 pound girl, and can defend like a 5 pound turtle'

I have seen a pro back off after getting clipped but run and twirl around swatting a bee hive is something else. Kid is a wrestler who doesn't like the knuckle game.

Bit naive that and you know it. Last i looked Shogun Rampage Silva and Nog who all have alot more mileage than their peers were all champs in the UFC. Id say they done quite well seeing as most of the best fighters were on the tail end of their careers. That much cannot be denied.
