Thinking back, knowing how slick and defensively skilled Lara is, Canelo destroying the body for most of the fight was actually a brilliant game plan. Especially when he knew he couldn't catch him for the first four rounds, he completely switched it up. Those were some vicious body shots he caught Lara with. Lara must have been hurting that fight. Pretty tough fight to call. 117-111 is a robbery tho for that one ref.

I think I had it for Lara, but at the same time it was a close fight, he ran too much for sure I feel like he himself gave the fight away.
I had 117-111 for Lara. And I am glad this fight happened because I wanted someone to show that Alvarez is largely overrated. He has poor boxing skills, movement, IQ... Lara brought him to school. The scoring was a travesty, Lara made that boy look like a bar room brawler for the majority of the fight.
I watched it once with 4 avid boxing fans, we.all gave it to canelo by about 2 rounds. I have yet to rewatch it but one of my boys did and said "yeh honestly i dont know how anyone scored that fight for lara" and we all like lara
