has some people worrying about how tall he is for a 19y/o WW. He's 5 ft 9 w/ a 71" reach, but don't people stop growing until they're 22?:think

he really isn't that good.... if cotto just had better technical skills, he would have KO'd alvarez in that one round that he had him badly hurt...

:nut & If Cotto's first name would have been Miguel he would have been in training for Foreman.

    If.......

Anyway, 147lbs will defo be the start, But Should Alvarez continue his climb He will grow out of WW in a year or 2, If he already hasn't now.

    Yeah,

He really isn't that good. Just a 19 year old that was the first to ever stop Jose Cotto in 32 fights.

Oh yeah.... and only 23 KOs out of 31? what a powder puff. That kid couldn't punch a door shut.

Money7 would only have been happen if Alvarez would have punched Cotto's eyes out of their sockets in the 1st round without even landing a punch.

i been meaning to ask how Joe Santiago did this time around coaching another Cotto to a loss. Was his advice anything beyond "you're doing good" and "keep using your jab"?

Guess Mosley is not that good either, cause you can easily insert Mosley and PBF's names in the red sentence.

ESB'ers have such a hard time with objectivity:deal

I'm sure he won't be a welterweight anymore by the time he hits his stride.

I always thought he was quite skinny for a welter, could move up.

Look at all the nuthuggers trying to brag about being the first to stop a ****ing LW at Jr. MW. LOL. Not only that, but the stoppage was ****ing garbage as only 2 punches in a 20+ punch flurry landed as well as Cotto starting to land counters and Alvarez gassing out.

The new Mexican hope is a fraud.

calm down buddies... just because i didn't agree with you guys, dont get your panties all riled up....

the kid has a lot of learning to do... like tieing up his opponent when hurt...not standing square up against opponents when backing up, etc

i just didn't see much from the kid then what i've seen from other prospects/young fighters....just reminds me of another chavez jr but with a bit better skills... (not a compliment) :rofl

so you're saying that jose cotto has an iron chin just because he was never stopped prior before fighting alvarez??... :patsch

23 out of 31 ko's is nice if you are just beating up taxi cab drivers... tko'ing cotto was an average test at best...

we will see what is in stored for the future for this kid... :good
