That fight wasn't that horrible! Klit Vs. Gomez

The fight was poor in my opinion. Both looked sluggish and there was a lot of holding.

 

Till vitali broke him down, gomez was game an in vitali face, there was alot of action in there, not sure what the total punchstats are, but i am sure they were high,,,,i thought vitali won every round, but the close were only given to him by me because he landed the much harder shots, an sence connect ratio were about the same,,, but it was close. I read that gomez has never been down, well he didn't want to end that tonight,,,i tell you what i wish the ref would of let vitali pound away for a round more, then he could of got a few more knock downs,,,,,GREAT FIGHT

 

Anyone know the ratings the fight got on ESPN Classic and ESPN2 in the States?

The German ratings were very, very good indeed.
Vitali vs Gomez is the most watched programme of the year so far with 10.88 million viewers on average and a 47.6% market share.

 

i haven't logged on to ESB since the fight and i am really surprised by the reaction. That fight was ****ing awesome! I liked it from start to finish.

lol, the fight was terrible. Gomez had the right idea, but he was going up against a naturally bigger and stronger man. they both looked like shite last night. The first round seemed to be the only decent round. Vitali either wasn't motivated, or he is just getting old.

 

It was a very good fight. I was very impressed with Vitali Klitschko's performance. He is truly one of the best fighters in the world, along with his brother.

The fight was bad and it was mostly Gomez's fault. Klit was reasonably accurate with shots against a very mediocre opponent, who basically looked aimless in the ring. That is what this division has been reduced to - defending major belts against gatekeepers and fans saying constantly that this or that fight wasnt "that horrible." Get the **** out of here! This is a championship fight and in a healthy sport all championship events should be at least competative. This poor excuse for a division has totally lowered our expectations.

 

Only idiots will say the fight was a "joke", "terrible", "sluggish" cause how can it be if Vitali dominated the fight? I admit Vitali has lost alittle bit of step but he hasn't lost a huge step. If he has lost a huge step then Peter or Gomez would have gave Vitali problems in which Vitali should have barely won.

 

Very good. Not great, nor excellent. Vitali Klitschko is an excellent fighter, so he makes very good competition look average.

 

It was quite a good fight. Just wait and see the nezxt weekend.

 

The fight was not tha bad but it was not good either.

The fight went exactly how I predicted on several occasions here on the ESB forum. Gomez certainly tried and showed a lot of heart.However, he was not in very impressive shape. Vitali trained harder and was in better shape.

It was not a good fight. Hs Vitali ever been in a good fight? I only recal the LL fight and that had more to do with LL.

This without a doubt the worst generation of heavyweight, far worse than the heavyweights from the 80's.
