Do you care for a rebuttle?

I was impressed with Hardy, I think he cranked Swick early in the first and Swick never recovered fully. Hardy also had great TD defence, I was surprised Swick went for a takedown usually he's all standup. He must have not liked getting that shot shot earlt in the first.

I guess Swick get's to keep his runner up trophy.

Went to support all the guys who train at rough house, and obviously supported the Brits. When Hardy got the decision it was crazy, that's a really good win, I hope he is ready for GSP, I'll be going with everyone to support him wherever the fight is. It was a great event and meeting GSP, Randy, Dana etc afterwards was cool but my photo with Darren off Hollyoaks was the highlight of the weekend.

Swick came in looking like an aids patient. Does he always come in looking so skinny?

Swick looked fine, that's just his body type, a lot like Vera, it suits both of them as long strikers and technical as opposed to power grapplers.

Hardy looked good, but honestly he might regret winning, GSP will make him look very bad, bordering on an average guy picked out of the crowd.

Swick put up a good fight - but Hardy really let him off the hook both times he had Mike rocked by switching to the clinch instead of unloading more bombs. I guess he was giving Swick respect and didn't want to get caught with anything by being careless and running in.

Both men fought well - and I don't want to disrespect Hardy but I don't think either one of them has anything to threaten GSP. Hardy would have been better off losing.

I don't get this thought that Hardy would have been better off losing. Makes no sense whatsoever!

Hardy (if indeed he does get the shot) will be the first Brit to challenge for a UFC title and will garner much exposure for himself. Added to that he has **** all to lose and everything to gain by fighting GSP. If he gets shut out as is most likely then he's no different to Alves, Fitch or Penn. No one since that fluke loss to Serra has really won a round against GSP so the expectations for Hardy (and anyone else in the world at 170) are low.

However if he had lost to Swick who is a gatekeeper at best, he would be relegated to fighting the journeymen of the division for a while. Instead if he loses to GSP he will still be in the upper echelons of the UFC WW division, competing with the best and earning himself some decent cash.

Who gives a **** I lost a fight pick and how many have I lost ? Tons and who doesnt ? Hardy still isnt very impressive to me although I enjoy watching him fight. The guy is beating who is in front of him but doesnt deserve a title shot hes getting one because the UFC needs fresh matchups for GSP. The man has done beat almost everyone in the top 10 or lingering just outside of it and brutal at that Serra,Hughes,Koscheck,Parysian,Fitch,Alves and even the best Lightweights.
