Agree 100%! The second this fight was announced I knew it was going to be a balls to the wall war and, for once, I was right! I had no qualms dropping $30 to watch this! Round 9 was worth the $30 alone! Winning or losing, Lopez always delivers bang for buck! His fights against Mtagwa, Concepcion, Marquez and now Salido are all carnage! Along with Arce, the most entertaining fighter in the game! Kudos to Main Event for actually showing this!
Main Event wouldn't mind mate, it wasn't PPV anywhere else, so I doubt the rights would've been too expensive.
Totally agree mate. Was awesome, absolute bang for your buck. Atmosphere was electric which made it that little bit better too. Juanma is 1 of those fighters whose defensive frailties means every fight he is in is a tear up. He either wins by KO like 90% of the time or gets himself KO'd. I could watch a 3rd match between Salido-Lopez, but it would probably be much the same. I would rather Juanma tackle an easier opponent or 2 to build some confidence & then take on a paper champ or a fringe top 10er come early 2013.
Both Salido and Lopez need to go in their own directions but one must question if Lopez can really comeback. I hope so! he is damn entertaining. My dream fight is Lopez v Arce! Make it happen Arum!
I would gladly watch Juanma vs Arce. Arce is tough as nails & even tho he is giving away size you would never count him out. All out WAR!!!!
Awesome fight, about time boxing produced, sadly of late it has been falling behind that other ****, but today was a win for boxing
THIS IS WHY I LOVE BOXING ??? But this isn't boxing it is the furthest thing from boxing. I don't want to spoil this party and I know I will get booed for this; BUT..... These two fighters come together like bulls, both throwing caution to wind, no risk management strategies at all, both of their heads are down and lowered, both are stooped at the waist, as they throw their powerful uppercuts and hooks at each other, maybe, just maybe, you would expect this type of style if it were the last round of a title bout, where the fight is no-ones or even, and both of them are looking for a knockout, or to score exceptionally well enough to impress the ref and judges for a crowning. Going for broke to win over one round, maybe.....but even if it was the last round, a real boxer would still use some risk management, maintaining his defensive skills whilst going for broke....the bigger question is in this bout....Where are the boxing skills ? If this is, or was, the 'crack' (pace and style) for the whole fight, as an audience watching the fight, it might be correct in you mind to state that it is fantastic, about the brutality and vigor in this fight, etc.etc. but you should also raise fact about the stupidity of this style.... you need to ask yourself, WHERE ARE THE BOXING SKILLS? Boxing is where both competitors fight with their minds, and calculate, use jabbing techniques, counter punches, ducking punches to capitalise on the misses from their opponent - this is what boxing should be about, putting boxing strategies into place, playing the game of chess to topple each of the opponents tricks.... Seriously, I would much have preferred some boxing bags being installed into this ring, and both fighters hitting each bag for three minutes for each round, the judges could count the punches thrown and then they could have nominated a bag basher winner. This style is farking senseless...and they are both bags. A real boxer would mince them early into the battle. .............................................................................. The tougher their skulls, or their ability to take punishment seems to be the major skill required here. I do note, also, watching this bout again, over and over, that these two seem to get into a rythmn with each other, perhaps even softening their blows at each other, meaning, they agree to accept the incoming punch from their (dance ?) partner and on receiving it, immediately get permission to send one back.... it is so farking non-sensical. They would be better off in the same boat rowing. I keep thinking, why doesnt one of you, deliver a block buster left jab, or step back and right counter......or play the bull and mattatdor with the cape, maybe they both play each other on computer boxing games... they are both like each other in style, but there is nothing in their styles to stamp your feet about and give praise. I will just go into some holy chanting now, "zHari Krishna, Fammo, Fammo, Hari Krishna Fammo, Fammo, Fammo, Fammo, Fammo, Fammo, Fammo, Fammo, Fammo,Fammo," There...now I have set some seeds in some super power up there in the stars, to send down another boxer of the ilk of Fammo, to show us how it is all done. ....................................................................................................................... PS: I am visualising the two chief trainers at both of these blokes gyms....... Gym One: Boss trainer yells out to the fifty or so fighters in the gym,..."OK, everyone! Get into the ring, come on, and hurry up.!....Good ! Now all fifty of you, put your heads down, that's it, chins on chests, I said, Good ! Good !! Now, tell me the truth, can anyone in the ring see another fightger's face.....come on, come on tell the truth.. ??" Comes a reply from one tough Latino ."No-o-o Boss, all I can only see are 49 pairs of boxing boots" Boss says, "Good, good! I never knew you were such a mathemetician Solada....now at the sound of bell, I want youze all to bash away at each other......and the last man standing wins.......Ding"..... World war three begins... Boss says to a ringman, "Quick Quick get this on tape, it will get 10,000,000 hits on Youtube, and I will become famous.". Meanwhile in the other gym, Boss trainer says to thirty or so fighters, "Line up, Line up...at the end of the gym...right here - on this line on the floor here.... Good.. good ! Now put your heads down......chins on neck, stoop low at your waist...good...I want youze to run as fast as you can, towards the other end of the gym....and don't stop till your heads hit that brick wall at the top end of the gym! OK ?" Two or three fighters cry with laughter, one says to the other, "Er Der, Dis is the bestest exercise ever Boss, it makes our heads so farkin tough" Boss says, " I want youze to hit that brick wall as farkin hard as you can....and anyone that is left standing will miss out on our next drill of throwing the bricks up into the air and catching them ontop of your heads......Is everone Ready? Set? " oops, there comes a slight interuption, as one boxer yells out, "Hang on Boss ! If I get tp knock myself out, can I still take a few gym bricks home to practice at home? " Boss says, "Of course you can Pancho....In fact, it is a good point Pancho,. everyone can take one home to practice with......Now ready, everyone...... Go-o-o !!!!".
Couldn't be bothered reading the essay haven't Been to school in years someone tell me what he's bitching about?
I'll help you Maco...fighting is not boxing....fight fans are moronic ignoramouses who don't read or think deeply enough, and therefore often follow what other people tell them.
No offence but that was dribble. If you cant see the skill that salido has, you shouldnt be talking about the word. Yeah salido goes to war and gets hit but he is a damn skillful, cagey fighter at the same time.
