Not if the weight cut kills eubank and Benn knocks him out. I personally think eubank is too big, but the weight cut does make it interesting. Eubank is no spring chicken either is he, he's 32.
Benn will be moved around the ring and rocked by every shot. This has an under 4 round TKO win for Young Christopher written all over it.
Lot of talk about this one on the bus home tonight. 154/155 seems to be the weight which was what my original source at the fish bar was MOOTING. Hearns junior is desperate to manufacture a star and is allegedly paying young CHRIS £6m to boil down for this one. they must be banking on him being so drained he can’t keep that little runt off him. problem as I see it is BENNE isn’t a powerful welterweight, and the Eubank youngster has eaten bombs off a 195lb George groves and was back in the gym the next day. Tough doesn’t begin to describe that kid. I don’t see any way a feather fisted welter puts a dent in young CHRIS unless the weight cut is simply too much. Which seems to be the entire strategy here from the increasingly cynical Hearns junior.
I don't think the Eubanks would sign up for something like this. A catchweight at 155-158 possibly but nothing as low and strict as that. Benn won't be able to crack Jnr's chin and come the later rounds he'll be hanging.
Maybe a few years ago, not now, I don’t think Joshua Usyk I did a million buys. It would sell big though I agree with you. I guess it will be on DAZN?
Who cares, both nothing fighters cashing in on their dad's name. Neither should be anywhere near a boxing ring apart from in the audience.
It will launch DAZN UK PPV as well. The service that killed PPV Then the service was only going to do PPV for the likes of AJ. NOW we end up with this.
I think Benn gets smashed to bits. I expect Hearn has decided welterweight is too competitive for him so he’s decided to cash in.
‘for one off fights Koogz!’ ...like a non-title catchweight fight between 2 people who’s dads didn’t like each other 30 years ago. It’s like something off Creed 2 ffs.
Agree. And Eubank needs a cashout because no decent boxer bringing an audience needs to fight him, and he's nowhere near any belts.
Even if Eubank is totally drained by the cut, he has clearly demonstrated time and time again that he possesses one of the best punch resistance in British boxing. George Groves couldn’t knock Eubank out at 168. I believe Benn hits very hard from what we’ve seen but that’s at 147. He doesn’t hit anywhere near hard enough to knock out Eubank and his power won’t carry up beyond 154. Eubank on the other hand is a very underrated puncher. He hits hard. Not necessarily knock out power but concussive damaging power. Can’t see anything beyond a brutal win for Eubank. Probably via a stoppage or corner pull out. Other likelihood is a brutally one sided points win with Benn’s face unrecognisable from the damage.
Agree. Eubank has had a few pointless matches but also to his credit has tested himself against good opponents, showed some ambition when he entered the WBSS, and does have something about him ability-wise. Not top drawer but can mix it at world level. He'd beat Conor in whatever round he felt like.
