No fan of Hatton, but for the first time I will be rooting for him in a big way....Mayweather is that much of a tit. He has next to noting in the way of charisma yet tires to carry on like Ali. It doesn't with wank Mayweather I'm afraid....we all know he's a spoilt brat.

Whats happening with you Sucka? These Hatton nuthuggers have gotten into your psyche, didnt you see Hattons disgraceful antics in Manchester earlier? its on Youtube, check it out!

Floyd has already exposed the myth of the Ricky Hatton 'boy next door' image, Ricky went on live TV swearing like a trooper, & accusing Mayweather of "touching up his dick" & calling him a poof, all in one crazy minute. major PR mistake by Hatton, attacking gays. Cant see the likes of Anthony Cotton Paul O'Grady getting Ricky back onto their shows anytime soon...

Rickys got well & truly wound up by the prettyboy, to the extent SKY were even apologizing for Rickys outbursts.

Floyds doing a number on Hatton in the build up, & Rickys carefully crafted public persona is crumbling in front of everybodys eyes, & you have to say Mayweather hasnt stooped to the levels Hatton hs to get a laugh from the masses.

    Im loving this build up:lol:

 so you think Hatton's fans are going to be shocked and apalled at Hatton's use of the odd swear word and calling Mayweather a poof?

come on Dunky, I'm no fan of Hatton but lets be honest here....Mayweather is a total shithead and Hatton comes out of all that rubbish with more credit.

Look at my post more closely my fellow musketeer.

Ricky has been selling himself & this fight on two major TV shows presented by gays recently, Anthony Cotton, a fellow manc & Paul O'Grady.

Then Floyd calls him a girl, Ricky cracks & retorts by calling Floyd a poof when hes in front of his baying manc fans. Floyds playing Ricky like a fiddle, & Ricky just scored a major PR own goal, trust me.

I know Hattons fans will love his 'poof' remarks, but in politically correct Britain those comments will come back to haunt him, just like the man he adores, Bernard Manning.

You dont live on this Island anymore Sucka, so you dont realise what a politically correct shithole it is now. I do though, & thats why Im laughing, & loving Hattons outbursts as the prettyboy plays him like a fiddle, just as I said right at the start of this thread.

99% of the posters here dont want to hear my take on it though, cos as I also said before, they just want to paint Ricky as the boy next door, & Floyd as the big bad black guy.

Holmes vs Cooney, this is what this fight is...

I'm sorry Dunky but thats just bollocks. The only racial overtones in this fight are from a very small minority of Hatton haters who, for some reason, seem desperate to create one. If, like me, youre old enough to remember Holmes-Cooney happening I can't believe you're making the comparision. They were very different times esp. in the UK and the Heavyweight division has always had that 'White Hope' thing that doesn't really apply to the lighter divisions.

BTW I'm not going to pretend to be shocked and offended by Mayweather giving a crowd of people the finger on national TV (potentially starting <gasp!> a riot??) just like I think the swearing or use of the word 'poof' (which, lets face it, is probably the mildlest slang word for what he was discribing) by Hatton is a big deal. None of those actions cover the fighters in glory but it's really no big deal.

The number of grown men on this forum who pretend to be 'disgusted', 'offended' or 'shocked' when a boxer they don't like does something slightly out of the ordinary just so they can try to score some points is laughable.

Trust me the whole 'poof' thing is a total non-issue and will be forgotton about by Monday morning. It's not really getting that much press down here and none of the papers are as 'shocked' or 'appalled' as some of genteel souls on ESB would like to think.;)

Def. 'advantage Hatton' on the pressers. " Rickys carefully crafted public persona is crumbling in front of everybodys eyes" is a tad OTT and melodramatic.

I think Floyd has made himself look like a bit of a twat in all his pressers but he always delivers the goods. To be fair, PBF has been in with some great fighters who were in there prime and has even beaten some of them convincingly whereas hatton has not looked so good in recent fights (OK he beat JLC but that never answered the stamina questions that his previous fights had created due to the fact it was over in 4)

I hope Hatton does it but I just cant see it.

As for the swearing, it was not all that bad but the very fact he done it on live TV during the day will surely raise an eyebrow or two and as Dunky mentioned the use of the word "poof" might end up backfiring (no pun intended lol) especially with all the "pc" hoopla at the moment with regards to Jim Davidsons exit from Hells Kitchen for using offensive words about Gays

I can't see it, it'll be lost in the football results from Monday onwards. If there was going to be a big stink (no pun intended) about it then it would have happened today.

Jim Davidson would have gotten away with saying 'shirtlifter' to anyone except a homosexual, who lets be honest was a bit of a drama queen and made a meal of it (pun intended that time!!). Mayweather isn't gay, the two situations arn't really comparable.

I think you're getting a bit carried away Dunky and making assumptions just because of your obvious dislike of Hatton:patsch . I attended the London press-conference and although Ricky swore there also he carried himself very well and didn't look in the slightest intimidated or upset by Mayweather. It was actually Floyd and his team who looked frustrated when they could not get a rise out of Hatton. Team Hatton are very confident and after seeing Mayweather up close I'm a little bit more optimistic of Hatton having some success in Las Vegas. I'm still not convinced he will win though.

I do truly believe theres something racial about this fight though Gaz, but its just my opinion. Thats from watching some interviews with Mayweather in the past in America, when white american interviewers have attacked him, & always brought up the name of Hatton in the process. Thats why I think Floyd took this fight, cos hes been woundup so much by white americans about Hatton its angered him to the point he wants to PROVE a point by whupping Hatton. I cant remember the interviews right now as I have had a few beers, but If I can remember them when I sober up, & they still exist, Ill post the links.

As for the Anthony Cotton & Paul O'Grady stuff, that was just me stirring it up a bit. However, it was in poor taste for Hatton to do what he did i.e. the nasty poof gag just after plugging his fight on the Anthony Cotton show. Thats what Im getting at, Hatton isnt the 'boy next door' that hes made out to be. He can be a smug & nasty piece of work when he feels like it. Just ask Witter!

Young Healy described hatton best IMO when he said he only grew a pair of balls when he was in front of thousands of his own fanatical fans. Until then, its been gum chewing aplenty & not much else. Look. We look at Hatton from different perspectives, & thats what makes for good debate, & will continue to do so, until the night Ricky gets Ko'd, oops I mean until the night of the fight;)

I don't think it is anything about balls or about race. But I do think that Hatton decided he had to act up to the crowd. His reaction of laughing and chewing gum in the US wound Mayweather up far more than responding with insults would.
But in Manchester with hundreds of fans there he felt like he had to play up to them and give it back and I think it was far less effective than the smirking at PBFs lame digs was.

The "poof" thing was poor judgement and I agree with Dunky on this one.

The only good comeback Hatton came out with was about how he knew he was going to miss his little son whilst doing the promotional tour but it had not been as bad as he had thought because he had been in the company of another ****ing 6 year old for the past two weeks.
