Benny Esteban has ref'd big fights before. He's usually very good. I think he took a point off Bernard for the simple fact he's renowned for holding. At the end of the day, he held quite a lot afterwards and Benny let him, so he didn't exactly hinder him. You can't say anything about the point deducted Pavlik, that was fair. He was a small guy with two big guys and I think he did o.k I mean, it was a competitive fight wasn't it, any complaints from you guys over anything that went on in there???

excessive holding he said. Still, take away 2 more points and HOPS still takes it.:yep imagine if he officiated a hatton fight?

He took a point from B-Hop just to even up the deductions, that was obvious.

Yeah it was to even up the score.

He made a mistake by taking away a point from Kelly without a warning and then he wanted to even things up.

I didn't like Estevez last night. Plus he's too small and they put him in there with Bernard and Pavlik!!! Boy did he have a tough time seperating them

I think he is a good ref. Give him a break people make mistakes and his was at least non consequential. Also you are NOT supposed to hold/wrestle and the ref did warn him at the end of the round before the deduction.

Yeah he warned Bernard, but he hadn't warned Kelly.
    Anyway, it doesn't matter much.

Wathc the fight again before people claim he didn't warn PAV.The ref gave PAV mutilpe warning about hitting behind the head. He even told PAV one more and it will be a point. He also warned Hopkins about the hold. Like others have said the ht was rough at times. Hopkin would clinch the arm on the side the ref couldn't see and hit PAV.

Pav was hitting behind the head way to much so the call was far in my book.Hopkin holding, now there's something new.

He did? I must have missed that. I thought he had just told both not to do that sometime in the fight prior to the point deduction, by I didn't think it was a warning. Anyway, matters not as I said :D
