That time Fury ducked Alexander Ustinov

Well, Fury ducked both Ustinov and Pulev. He can easily put an end to all speculations by offering fights to both of them. Or at least one. I am not suggesting he does that instead of the big money fights he can have, but somewhere in between may be. In any case it's mostly what Fury does from now on that will define his legacy. If he beats Wlad again, unifies against Wider (sod the IBF) and then defeats Povetkin and Ortiz - well, he'll be the "real deal".

 

Fury ducked Pulev and Ustinov...he wanted the path of least resistance until he got Wlad. He avoided the serious challengers and feasted on C level opposition like Chisora and Hammer.

If you lose to Wlad, no big deal....he got a nice paycheck. To lose and be exposed by Ustinov or Pulev, that would be hard to swallow.

 

His Uncle was dying and he pulled out to be with him. Huey did indeed later die.

Now he ducked Coleman Barrret by a country mile, however.

 

He didn't duck Pulev, he signed a $7m fight to face Haye. He didn't duck Ustinov either, he had legit reasons.

The only fighter it's fair to argue Fury ducked is David Price. I believe Hennessy pulled him back from that one before the roiders got to Price removing him from the picture.

 

He absolutely ducked Pulev. He had the chance to get the #1 IBF spot right then, said no thanks I'll sign to fight a domestic level fighter that's already lost to Wlad. Tell us, how much of that $7m did he get? Serves the ducker right....

He signed a short notice contact against Ustinov, then when Ustinov showed up to the presser in great shape and unphased by his games, he upped and bailed out over a sick relative, which is NOT a legit reason.

Add Price in there, yeah he's ducked 3 times confirmed.

as for pulev, no one ducks that clown, hes terrible.

 

Because he beat Wlad he couldn't have ducked? atsch Fury simply side stepped a big obstacle.

Now Pulev is terrible, yet before Wlad he was seen as a top 3-4 HW? :huh
