I think plenty of people here already stated it for thousands of time that Crolla is a mandatory fight for Loma. The consequence of failing to make this fight will result Loma of being stripped of his WBA belt. There were only two candidates for the title eliminator, which are, boxers who ranked first and second in the list. And at that time, they were Anthony Crolla and Daud Yordan. Crolla won the fight and therefore he got the title shot. It was a close fight between him and Yordan. But to be honest, if Daud who gotta fight Loma, the result would be no difference. Daud is much more durable than Crolla, but his technique, footwork and strategy in inferior to Crolla. I'd hate to see Daud to be damaged by Loma. Right now, WBA (like usual) is planning to elevate a new regular champion in 135, between Rances Barthelemy and Robert Easter Jr. Which means, anyone ranked in WBA who would like to fight Loma will have to go through the winner of that bout.
Maybe not the punch itself, but the effect it had. It wasn't even a huge punch. I think after a few rounds of battering, that temple shot just took everything away in a split second.
So no-one here can even remotely pose a question about a boxer unless they are capable of beating him? So you're never going to criticise Floyd, Ward and Canelo ever again? Because you couldn't beat them could you? Thanks CJ, for that commitment to STFU about them from now on. Oh and one final point. Go easy on the capital letters and exclamation marks.... you're giving everyone linguistic-induced headaches...
It was a great KO and, yeah, people can say Crolla was a sub-par opponent, but he was mandatory and was twice competitive with Linares, who put Loma on his backside. You can't have it both way with Linares. If Loma apparently struggled with Linares as some claim, then they can't talk down Crolla as an opponent for Loma....
Loma should only be fighting that level of fighter if he was fighting his first fight at 140/47. Those level of fights are truly a waste of time
Theres a difference in posing a question about a fighter & calling him a bum as some have. Any man that climbs through the ropes & puts his life on the line has my respect But fighters lose my respect when they indulge in using illegal unfair advantages to gain "wins" like the 3 you named Mayweather, Canelo & Ward The NSAC vainly tried to cover Mayweathers ass over IV Gate but only further proved his illegal actions. Same thing with Canelo & the popping dirty for clenbutrol . After all his manager & trainer are BUTCHERS in Mexico arent they ?? I just post my own personal opinion of things If you dont like my posts dont read them then complain about the content its really that easy
ESPN upped an article stating Loma is the best boxer today after that crap of a fight. Talk about taking things in context, not.
I'm all for Mendoza and the other WBA top to get arrested, but isn't that a bit radical for assigning a weak mandatory?! They should arrest them for the obvious countless bribes they took over the years, but pretty sure that won't happen. If they would be arrested for that, then sure Sulaiman and co should have been arrested for mandating Wilder vs Stiverne II for instance.
