People are such whiners now, no appreciation whatsoever. That was a really good fight and both guys deserve respect for giving fans a good show.
It turned out to be a pretty good fight. Benavidez could have started using his jab earlier but he was real tight at the beginning, but Plant wasn't doing much.
Well tbf what is boxing? It's two half naked men throwing hands & cuddling each other in the RING whilst fighting for belts and purses .. so not much difference really.. pointless getting on your high horse about homoeroticism here
Nah....no rolling around on the canvas in boxing....I don't ride horses; well I did once and I almost got killed.
It wasn't FOTY material, but it certainly wasn't awful by any stretch of the imagination. We knew Plant didn't have the firepower to keep Benavidez off of him or legs to stay away forever; the intrigue was how long it would take for David to get untracked and how he'd go about the task of breaking Plant down. Basically, round six was when Benavidez flipped the switch and he held control with iron fists after that. But because he'd dropped the majority of the early rounds it was still close enough of the cards to remain in doubt in terms of official outcome until the championship rounds. Quite a good prizefight with a really hot crowd. Can do a whole lot worse than that.
This is one of the stupidest posts I have ever seen. I complain because there was holding and clinching all night and you say go to MMA? Get a brain and a clue.
I fail to see how it was an awful fight? I thought the card was great. I mean Kenny Bayless was breaking up clinches in a hurry. He didn't even let them fight inside. I don't know how you thought clinching was such an issue.
Terrible ref was clearly helping Plant by allowing him to clinch every time he was in a bad position. Bayless was also stepping in when Benevidez got his arm free and was landing exiting the clinch, which should be allowed. Needed to dock Plant a point early and let them fight out of the clinch or keep docking points.
I thought it was a great fight. It reminded me of the Trinidad days, total destruction in the second half.
You started the thread by saying 1 it was an awful fight and 2 that boxing was dying. Both statements were false and thus I felt I could make any damn response at all and that you were not a boxing fan.
