That was the definition of a boxing clinic. Don't confuse mismatches with boxing clinics. He took a fighter regarded by many as a top pound for pound boxer and won almost every round convincingly. Donaire was clueless as to what he should do. Donaire and Garcia were both utterly clueless. That's a clinic, friend. He completely outclassed Donaire. It wasn't even close. I don't even care that I lost money on the fight. I was rooting for Rigondeaux. Long live the Jackal!
You, my good man, dksab. I'd say the fact that he was winning rounds while "barely doing anything" would indicate a certain level of ease, yes? Man, look at Rigo dropping his right. He was WIDE open for a left hook there, he's lucky Donaire was too busy getting punched in the face to throw anything :yep :deal Nine. Two other ones were close so I gave them to Donaire because I'm a philanthropist. Most of them. And this right here was the key to the fight. Rigo never let Donaire have the initiative or upper hand. He negated everything he did.
Rigo boxed a clinic. What impressed me even more was that anytime Donaire landed a clean hard shot, Rigo responded immediately with a better shot of his own. Rigo looked to me like he was open to war with Donaire if Donaire got aggressive and actually threw punches, but instead Donaire just plodded, reluctant to throw much of substance, leary of getting hit with the harder counter.
the first six maybe seven rounds were a ****ing boxing chess match, a classic example of two top tier boxers at their prime trying to control the pace of a fight. far from boring bro. there were a couple of rounds before the knockdown where very little happened but this was a very good fight to watch altogether, especially when Donaire got desperate and managed a legit 10-8 round with his own ability. your disappointment shows that you wanted Donaire to win and nothing else. ill admit that i picked Nonito myself, and i wouldve put money on him, but i respect the skill and confidence that Rigo showed and he deserved this W tonight and it was a great boxing match to watch.
It was a very good technical chess match in the beginning rounds and some of the late rounds .. the mid rounds were absolutely terrible. Both guys hesitated too much and wouldn't throw anything. But if this was a 'top-tier chess match' as you said then how was Donaire schooled? im not disapoitned at anything, and I wasnt picking either guy to win - i just find it laughable what people are saying around here. People are having a **** at Donaire fans because he lost, thats all there is too it.
Donaire did his part of making it a fight. But can't blame him for not throwing punches when the target is always maintaining a mile of distance.
