He was in training in case of a pullout from Pulev and AJ had trained for Pulev. No surprise here, Takam is a beast though.
Joshua had the fight on 12 days notice too lol. Takam was set to fight on Hearn's Monte Carlo card next weekend, if he didn't step in for Pulev.
Not very different than VK vs. Lewis.....short notice, Lewis got saved just like AJ did and Vitali/Takam performed better than anticipated.
But, at the end of the day, Lewis won because he hit Vitali and blood started gushing from several new orifices. That blood allowed Lewis to win the last round of his professional career pretty decisively- and to win a legitimiate victory over a guy who ultimately succeeded him. And Vitali won because Charr started bleeding out a third eye, too in what turned out to be his last fight. Both guys won their last fight. Lewis just happened to face a better opponent in his final outing.
Takam has been a skillex professional for years now. His fight vs Povetkin was action packed and skillful.
That Lennox uppercut In the 6th nearly decapitated Vitali he didn't know if he was in Vegas or Vladivostok He was done
