I don't think any version of Usyk would beat the Usyk that we saw tonight. His defense was absolutely incredible, his movement was incredible, punch selection was incredible... I think this is his best preformance, better than Gassiev or AJ1 or Fury 1. He was absolutely incredible in there, he was right in front of Fury all night. Fury was throwing lots and Usyk showed some absolutely otherwordly defence, his punch selection was something to behold, I think this was also the best Fury that we've seen, he was overweight but his gas tank was really good and he seemed faster with his hands than last time around.
Gassiev was his best ever pro performance IMO. While what Usyk has done is extremely impressive at HW, in terms of just being top of his game technically, he dismantled Gassiev and turned what I thought was going to be a close contested fight into a blow out. He was untouchable in there that night. Sure looking at Gassiev in retrospect he hasn't done much afterwards, but he had some serious HYPE going into that match from me and Usyk blew me away with his performance. Edit: I'm talking about this from a technicality perspective btw
Agreed. Fury didn't land any huge shot, he did in the 1st fight. Usyk was crisp, full of energy, outlanded Fury and dodged/weaved every big shot from Fury. Usyk looked sooo good. Amazing for 37.
He was really locked in. Fury too, for that matter. I think Fury abusing his body for a decade showed up tonight. The Joshua fans claiming Usyk is washed up to try to diminish a good Fury performance are beyond pathetic. Usyk could be king another year, probably two, then he will probably slow down.
I was amazed how good he was in the later rounds, the man is almost 38, I must say in the first fight he looked more fatigued down the stretch than he did tonight, could be the long and difficult camp that lasted 7 months for the first fight but he defo looked fitter tonight
Right after the fight this is what we discussed with friends - Fury didn't land more than a couple of very good shots during the second fight. Usyk's defense work was insane.
I think the fact that he basically had 3 camps for the first fight gets overlooked. He even looked fresher after the fight than he did the last time.
Last super big night of boxing 2024 is behind us. I still feel a bit sad for Dave Allen. He put his health and heart on the line and was ... I feel he was robbed. I would understand draw maybe, but split loss? No. I felt I watch Rocky 5. Dave was Rocky without conditioning and Johny Fisher is a british Tommy Gun. Lapin is maybe boring, but I think he will become a champion one day. Reach and skills are there. Bohachuk fight was stopped right. British fights generally have been very exciting including last rounds when Lowe lost his gumshield several times. Itauma vs Hrgovic would be a very intersting fight for 2025. Would Filip take it? Main event - judges got it right after a long time. UD was already in the first Usyk vs Fury fight. Usyk threw more accurate punches in more rounds, stats do not lie. https://www.*******.com/compubox-punch-stats-oleksandr-usyk-tyson-fury-ii--200911 Bias of british pundits was disgusting. Frampton, Bounce and Haye ... Hearn.... Only Itauma said Usyk won fair. He is probably still too young to be rotten bias. Dubois call out for Usyk was bizarre. Act like Parker was erased from Planet Earth. Itauma has more sense in 19 than Mr. "Let's go, are you entertained". Lol. Itauma said something about this cringe moment. I feel it's gonna be interesting rivalry in future. And guess who knocked the door of my house today? Yes, uncle Frank Warren came with big scorecard to show me a corruption proof. Performance of the night goes to Shawn Porter. All time great drum player. The man is a legend.
